Welcome to another edition of the Fantasy Hockey Injury Report. The injury report is going to keep you up to date on all the important injuries going on around the league, and how that might affect your fantasy hockey team. Make sure to check back regularly for any updates. Let’s take a look at some players that are either ruled out, or that we need to monitor.

Nathan MacKinnon, COL

Nathan MacKinnon will be out of the lineup for at least three weeks due to a lower-body injury. He suffered the injury earlier in the week against Columbus. There’s no way to replace a player like him, so fantasy owner just need to stash him away and wait until he can return to action

Viktor Arvidsson, LA

Viktor Arvidsson remains on the COVID-19 protocol list, but he should be able to return to the lineup at some point next week. He’s already missed six games but he’s eligible to come off as of November 17, so he could make his return to the lineup at that point. The Kings have been pretty good of late, so Arvidsson would be a smart add in fantasy hockey for anyone looking for some upside.

Torey Krug, BOS

Torey Krug has missed the last three games due to being on the COVID-19 protocol list and we still have no timetable for his return. Considering how much time he’s already missed, it’s likely that he did contract COVID-19 and we need to be out of the maximum amount of time, which would be 14 days. If he can produce two negative tests, he’d be able to return immediately. Again, all of this is speculation and we should get an update in the next few days.

Brayden Schenn, STL

Brayden Schenn has missed the last three games due to a lower-body injury and remains day-to-day. He has been skating at practice, but head coach Craig Berube hasn’t said anything more than “ he’s skating and hopefully he continues to improve everyday.” That doesn’t sound very promising, so it look like Schenn won’t be back in the lineup to start the week.

Petr Mrazek, TOR

Petr Mrazek will miss about four weeks after suffering a groin injury. This is the same injury that kept him out of the lineup earlier in the year, and considering his injury history, he might be out longer than the four weeks. At this point, Mrazek is injury prone and doesn’t deserve to be kept on a fantasy hockey team.

William Karlsson, VGK

The Vegas Golden Knights just can’t stay healthy. Already without a ton of their regulars, it was confirmed that William Karlsson will be out of the lineup four-to-six weeks due to a broken foot. He was hurt back in October, but we weren’t sure the extent of the injury. He was off to a very slow start, so there’s no reason to hold his dead weight on your fantasy team.

Jack Eichel, VGK

Jack Eichel had artificial disc surgery on Friday and his expected recovery time is three-to-five months. We know how long Eichel has been fighting to get this type of procedure done, and now that it’s done, he can focus on getting healthy and back to playing hockey. It’s a long shot that we see him play hockey this season, but if miracles do happen, and you can stash him on IR, it would be a smart choice to do that.
