Welcome to another edition of the Fantasy Hockey Injury Report. The injury report is going to keep you up to date on all the important injuries going on around the league, and how that might affect your fantasy hockey team. Make sure to check back regularly for any updates. Let’s take a look at some players that are either ruled out, or that we need to monitor.

Max Comtois

After a god awful start to the season, Max Comtois has been moved to IR due to a hand injury. He’s expected to be out of the lineup for at least six weeks, so we won’t see him back until January. This might explain his struggles this season, so hopefully he can return from this and get back to scoring goals.

Bowen Byram

Rookie defenceman Bowen Byram has missed the last three games due to a concussion and continues to be day-to-day. He was spotted in a non-contact jersey earlier in the week, but was seen watching practice on Friday and didn’t suit up. Concussions are a very delicate matter, and the Avalanche will want to make sure that Byram is 100% before returning. He has three goals and five assists this season.

Darnell Nurse

Darnell Nurse hadn’t missed a game in over three years, but that streak is now coming to an end due to a broken finger. The injury will keep him out of the lineup for about two-to-three weeks. Nurse still hasn’t scored this season, but continues to be one of the team’s best all-around defenceman. Stash him on IR and look for a short-term solution on the waiver wire.

Jake Allen

Already without Carey Price, the Montreal Canadiens are also down Jake Allen due to a concussion. He was hurt against Detroit on November 13th, and only started skating recently. He could return at some point next week, but even that is not guaranteed. Considering how the Habs are playing, even when he returns, it would be ebay to keep him on the bench until the team in front of him starts to play better.

Josh Bailey, Anthony Beauvillier and Anders Lee.

The New York Islanders are dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak, and some of their superstars have already entered protocol. Josh Bailey, Anthony Beauvillier and Anders Lee are all expected to miss some time due to COVID, but how much time is still up in the air. We don’t know if they’ve actually tested positive, or if they were just in close proximity to someone, but we should find out more as the week moves on.

Shea Theodore

After hitting his head on the boards in Tuesday’s game against Carolina, Shea Theodore was unable to go against Detroit and it’s unlikely we see him play on Saturday night. We don’t know if he suffered a concussion in that game, but it would be reasonable to think so. As of right now, there’s no timetable for his return, so fantasy owners need to wait for another update before finding out how long the Vegas defenceman *could* be out.
