Top Tier
Rafael Devers, 3B BOS - There’s going to be a big crash for Wily Peralta and that could start here against the Red Sox. He’s xFIP sits at 5.00 and BABIP BELOW .200. That’s VERY hard to maintain, especially when you only have a 14% K-rate and are allowing a 38% hard-hit rate. Devers crushes right-handed pitching as he’s belted 21 homers against them to go along with his .415 wOBA. He may very well be my favorite spend up of the slate.
Kris Bryant, SF 3B/OF - It’s hard not to love Bryant in a Giants uniform and what the lineup looks with him in it. He homered in his first game with the team and has had a hit in each of his first two. Bryant has been solid lately, notching an OPS north of 1.100 while belting three homers over his last 10 games. He’s hit left-handed pitching extremely well too, batting .342 with a .473 wOBA to boot.
Nelson Cruz, OF TB - Cruz is a notorious lefty masher who gets a lefty Tuesday. Yusei Kikuchi has been bitten by a LOT of power recently, allowing at least one homer in five straight games and seven overall. Kikuchi has allowed 17 homers to RHH along with a .464 SLG% and .340 wOBA. Cruz has hit .354 with a .980 OPS and a .411 wOBA against southpaws. He’s more of a GPP one off here, but a play that can be quite fruitful for your lineups.
Mid Tier
Aaron Judge, OF NYY - The Yankees were extremely chalky on Monday and let EVERYONE down. You know when the perfect time to jump back on the bandwagon is? The very next day. Recency bias will keep people away. Judge mashes left-handers, mashes the Orioles, and loveeeees hitting in Yankee Stadium. He’s belted SEVEN homers off the Orioles in nine games and has an OPS north of 1.700 against them! He’s hitting .300 with a .426 wOBA against southpaws and has a career OPS of 1.045 at home!
Ozzie Albies, 2B ATL - I always jump at the opportunity to play Albies against a southpaw and here we are again. Albies squares up with Jon Lester as he makes his first start for the Cardinals. Right-handed hitters have given Lester fits this year, hitting .318 with a .930 OPS and .395 wOBA. That plays right into our hands here considering Albies is batting .333 with a .405 wOBA against southpaws. Easy correlation play. One of the top mid tier options on the board.
Starling Marte, OF OAK - Marte is so explosive. He swiped THREE bags on Sunday and reached base FOUR times. He now has 55 runs scored and 26 stolen bases in 65 games. SHEESH. He also happens to be hitting .308 on the year. Blake Snell has been getting killed by right-handers this season as righties have an .880 OPS and a .380 wOBA to boot. Marte is priced a little too low on this slab.
Value Tier
Max Stassi, C LAA - It’s always weird suggesting a catcher, but here we are. Stassi hasn’t hit like your average catcher this year as his season average sits at .308. He’s upped that over his last 10 games batting .333 with an OPS over 1.000. Stassi is mashing right-handed pitching this year, batting .345 with eight homers and a .430 wOBA. Jordan Lyles struggles with RHH himself, allowing a .292 AVG, .880 OPS, and .370 wOBA.
Akil Baddoo, OF DET - Attack Garrett Richards at all costs! Baddoo rakes against right-handed pitching and hits out of the leadoff spot against them. He has a .286 AVG, has hit all 10 of his homers against RHP while putting up a .387 wOBA. Over Richards last 10 starts, he’s been horrible, pitching to a 6.66 ERA while allowing 12 HR and opponents are batting .335 against him. This is the perfect situation for Baddoo to have a big night.
Andrew Vaughn, 1B/OF CWS - A lot of the White Sox lineup is slumping right now, but Vaughn is one of the lone members actually having success at the dish. He’s hitting .361 over his last 10 games with an OPS just under 1.000. He’s had a lot of success against left-handed pitching, batting .318 with a .431 wOBA. He’s surprisingly cheap against a pitcher allowing 1.69 HR/9 innings while allowing a 34% hard-hit rate this year.
