Top Tier

Max Scherzer, SP LAD - Max has been a dominating force since joining the Dodgers and he put a punctuation mark on that statement in his last outing against the rival San Diego Padres as he tossed 7.2 innings of shutout baseball while striking out 10. He faced the Braves just once this season and had nine strikeouts over six innings but did allow four runs. I expect a much better performance here tonight.

Chris Sale, SP BOS  - The Red Sox lineup is getting hit with Covid-19 right now so the run support could be an issue. There is also the pitch limit that Sale seems to be on that also has potential to limit his upside. With all of that said, Sale has still been sharp since his return, striking out 21 over 15.1 innings while averaging 23.4 DK points per game.

Gerrit Cole SP NYY- Cole has allowed just one earned run over his last 17.2 innings while striking out 24 during that span. The lone run came in a start against these Angels in which he struck out nine over 5.2 innings. The strikeout upside here at this price tag is very appealing even if Cole has been a bit more hittable since the “sticky stuff” ban.

Mid-Tier

James Kaprielian, SP OAK - Kaprielian has been pretty good for Oakland on a whole this season even if he is coming off a tough start against the Yankees where he allowed six runs. Fortunately, the Tigers lineup is not the Yankees lineup and that is who he is facing tonight. On the season Detroit has the second highest strikeout rate against RHP while ranking 24th in both average and wOBA this season. Good price in a good matchup.

Steven Matz, SP TOR - So, here is the thing, the O's lineup has generally been pretty good against LHP this season but Matz himself is on a nice run right now, allowing just four earned over his last 27.2 innings. He has had one start against Baltimore this season and took the loss after allowing three runs (two home runs) over four innings of work. Could look to run the hot hand in a game that Toronto is favored to win.

Value Tier

Joe Ryan, SP MIN - Ryan was one of the prospects acquired from the Tampa Bay Rays in the deal that sent Nelson Cruz out of Minnesota. He is making his MLB debut tonight and has a pretty appealing matchup against a Cubs team that certainly lacks the punch it once had. Ryan has been impressive at the minor league level this season, striking out 92 over 66 innings while walking just 12. He held hitters to a .173 average. Lot of upside at this price point.
