Top Tier

Josh Allen, BUF - Some low hanging fruit right here but we have Josh Allen against a brutally bad Atlanta Falcons pass defense that nearly lost to a Tim Boyle lead Lions team last week. Allen on the other hand is on a real nice run, having thrown six touchdowns over the last two games with just one interception. He is expensive but well worth the price tag.

Matthew Stafford, LAR - Boy did he let us down last week huh? Stafford was the cover of this very article and decided to complete under 60% of his passes for 197 yards with three interceptions and one touchdown. He has a chance to redeem himself this week against a Ravens secondary that ranks 30th in DVOA against the pass. We just saw Joe Burrow light this Ravens defense up and Stafford is coming to town with the ability to repeat the effort.

Tom Brady, TB - Brady’s road numbers haven’t been great this season but he faces the Jets this weekend and he has a two decade track record of tearing apart this Jets defense. Mike Evans is back for the Buccaneers this weekend and he is just over 100-yards shy of yet another 1,000 yard season. I look for Brady and Evans to have quite a day here in this matchup.

Joe Burrow, CIN - The Chiefs defense has been a lot better of late but how can we go against Burrow when he is at home given the game he just had? The Bengals have elite receiving options not just with Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins but Tyler Boyd has been making big plays for a few weeks now as well. This game is set up to be a shootout and I am here for it.

Mid-Tier

Jalen Hurts, PHI - We just saw this matchup two weeks ago and Hurts lit up the Washington Football team for 296 yards passing with one touchdown and one interception along with 38 yards rushing and two rushing touchdowns. With Miles Sanders out for this game we may see the Eagles lean more on Hurts in this matchup and the Washington secondary is still trash.

Russell Wilson, SEA - I think the weather played a big part in limiting Wilson last week as the Seahawks QB completed just 59% of his throws but he managed two touchdowns, including a big play to DK Metcalf. Now, there is rain in the forecast for Sunday’s game so we will have to monitor this one but if the game is going to be played dry it is hard not to love this matchup against the Lions.

Taysom Hill, NO - Hill is off the COVID list and ready to play this week against the Panthers. Carolina is going to be without Stephon Gilmore this weekend who is their best cover corner and the focus of that defense is going to largely be on Alvin Kamara. While I don’t expect a ton from Hill through the air, his mobility is where the value comes to play at this price point with Hill having had games of 101 and 73 rushing yards already this season.

Value Tier

Trey Lance, SF - Only one name really needs to be here this week as Lance is expected to start against the Houston Texans this weekend following the injury to Jimmy Garoppolo. Lance, like Taysom Hill and Jalen Hurts, is not a great passer quite yet but his mobility is the appeal here. In his lone start this year he rushed for 89 yards against the Cardinals while throwing for 192 yards with an interception. He played the second half against Seattle back in Week 4 and threw two touchdowns while completing just 50% of his throws but did add 41 yards rushing. He has a soft defense here and should make some big plays with his legs.
