Top-Tier
Willy Adames, MIL – Adames has been nothing short of incredible since joining the Brewers, hitting .293 with 15 home runs, 20 doubles, 45 RBI, and 44 runs scored across 67 games. If you pace that out to 162 games you are looking at a season with a .293 BA, 36 home runs, 48 doubles, 109 RBI, and 106 runs scored. We are talking about an MVP-caliber stat line here. He is hot at the dish right now, hitting .316 with four home runs, four doubles, and eight runs scored over his last nine games. He has crushed righties, slashing .280/.354/.513 against them this season, compared to .209/.287/.436 against lefties. He is slashing .313/.365/.552 in road games this year as well.
Jonathan India, CIN – India had a streak of five straight games with double-digit DFS points snapped in yesterday’s game, but we can expect a bounce back performance today. Despite going 0-4 in yesterday’s game, he is still hitting .351 over his last nine games with FIVE home runs, four doubles, nine RBI, and 10 runs scored. He has crushed left-handed pitching this season, slashing .363/.452/.500 against them, compared to .259/.388/.447 against righties. He has also been a road warrior, slashing .302/.434/.503 on the road this season, compared to .267/.375/.422 at home. Today he faces a terrible lefty in Hentges, who has a 7.86 ERA and 2.02 WHIP this season across 44.2 innings pitched. He has been crushed by righty bats as they are slashing .366/.437/.579 against him, compared to the .256/.347/.372 line that lefties have produced. Play India.
Mid-Tier
Eloy Jiménez, CWS – Eloy is back and doing Eloy type things as he had a monster game last night, swatting a pair of home runs, a double, and racking up five RBI to finish with 39 points on DK, a day after going 2-4 with a double. He is now hitting .273 with three home runs, four doubles, and nine RBI across nine games in the 2021 season. He is a monster (and still just 24-years old!). He is underpriced today too. He has done all of his damage against righties as he is 0-12 against lefties thus far, which isn’t all that surprising as he has reverse splits for his career with a .285/.326/.563 slash against righties, compared to a .250/.303/.453 slash against lefties. He’s also been far better on the road in his career with a .292/.325/.566 slash, compared to a .256/.312/.492 line at home. Lock him in today.
Jake Cronenworth, SD – Cronenworth is hot at the dish right now, hitting .279 with three home runs, 13 RBI(!), and eight runs scored over his last 11 games. He is now hitting .275 on the year with 16 home runs, four steals, 53 RBI, and 75 runs scored. He has hit for a higher average against lefties, but his power has come against righties as 12 of his 16 home runs are against them. He has also been incredible at home, slashing .304/.373/.537 in San Diego, compared to .241/.319/.396 on the road. Today he faces Thompson whose FIP is nearly a full run higher than his ERA and he has been worse against lefties as they are slashing .217/.316/.348 against him, compared to the .180/.245/.303 line that righties have produced.
Bargain Bin
Adam Frazier, SD – From one Padres bat to another, Frazier has racked up double-digit DFS points in three straight games as he seems to be finding his groove in his new digs. He currently leads the entire league in hits with 136 and he ranks highly in doubles with 30. He is hitting .328 with a .386 OBP against righties this season and five of his six steals, compared to a .299 BA and .374 OBP against lefties. His ceiling is pretty low with his lacking power/speed, but his price tag is cheap and he is a nice play in cash games or in GPPs as a part of a Padres stack. Given the small slate and the matchup that the Padres have (as well as the reasonable prices of Cronenworth, Frazier, and even Hosmer) the Padres will probably be a pretty high owned stack today as the only spend up would be on Machado, which would allow for you to potentially double-tap some high priced arms like Peralta/Castillo/Giolito/Musgrove.
Brian Goodwin, CWS – Lets end things with another White Sox bat in Goodwin who can be paired easily/nicely with Eloy. Goodwin is on a bit of a power binge right now as over his last six games he is hitting .250 with THREE home runs, three walks, four RBI, and six runs scored. He has massive splits this season, slashing .282/.378/.564 against righties with ALL 16 of his extra base hits, 24 of his 25 runs scored, and 19 of his 21 RBI on the season, compared to .135/.158/.135 across 39 PA against lefties. Burrows is someone I would consider a low-tier lefty and a White Sox stack with the core pieces of Eloy and Goodwin is something I feel will be a great option for tonight’s slate! (You can add Luis Robert into that as well potentially, who is making his return off IL tonight and is underpriced).
