Top-Tier

J.D. Martinez, BOS – Martinez is having another storng season, hitting .285 with 24 home runs, 34 doubles, 83 RBI, and 80 runs scored. He enters this game on a three-game hitting streak, going 6-13 (.462) with a home run and four RBI across those three games. Today he faces Yarbrough who has a 4.57 ERA this season and the damage against him has come off the bats of righties as they have slashed .264/.299/.474 against him with 19 of the 20 home runs that he has given up this season and 25 of the 28 doubles, compared to the .236/.303/.303 line that lefties have produced. On top of that, Martinez is 12-21 (.571) with three home runs against Yarbrough in his career.

Alex Bregman, HOU – Bregs has missed a lot of action this season due to injury, but he’s been good when he’s on the field, hitting .280 with seven home runs, 15 doubles, and 35 RBI through 63 games. He comes into this game 5-14 (.357) with three runs scored over his past four games. He has been great on the road, slashing .311/.387/.487, compared to .250/.345/.371 at home. He has had success against lefties his whole career and this season is no different as he is slashing a strong .344/.442/.521 against southpaws, compared to .238/.313/.367 against righties. On top of all of that, he is 5-13 (.385) with a home run against Kikuchi in his career.

Eloy Jiménez, CWS – Jimenez is hitting .278 with eight home runs and 30 RBI through 29 games this season. He has scored at least 14 points on DK in three of the past four games as he rolls into this game with a great matchup against Wilson. Eloy has always had massive reverse splits and this season it’s bigger than ever as he is slashing .329/.349/.646 against righties with seven home runs and 26 RBI, compared to .152/.243/.273 against lefties with just one home run and four RBI. Righties have crushed Wilson as they are slashing .313/.349/.495 against him this season, compared to the .262/.313/.456 line that lefties have produced. Big time home run upside tonight for Eloy.

Mid-Tier

Mike Zunino, TB – Zunino is having one of the best seasons against left-handed pitching that we have seen as he is slashing a ridiculous .341/.412/.868 against them with 13 home runs and seven doubles in just 102 PA against them! That’s a massive difference from his gross looking slash line of .136/.239/.386 against righties with 14 home runs and two doubles. He is hitting .275 with SEVEN home runs, 12 RBI, and 14 runs scored over his last 15 games. He should be able to keep that momentum going tonight with the Rays facing a lefty and the home run upside makes him a great pick tonight for GPPs.

Bargain Bin

Freddy Galvis, PHI – Galvis has been very strong against lefties this season, slashing .293/.330/.500 against them this season, compared to .216/.288/.346 against righties. Today he gets to face a weak lefty in Corbin, who has a 6.09 ERA 1.40 WHIP, and 2.1 HR/9 this season. Righties have torched him as they are slashing .290/.346/.549 against him, compared to the .231/.283/.342 line that lefties have produced. On top of all that, Glavis has been pretty good in this head-to-head matchup, going 5-16 (.313) against Corbin in his career.

Jake Meyers, HOU – Meyers continues to be a great play at a cheaper price than he should be. He is hitting .333 with three home runs, a steal, and 16 RBI thus far this year. He is currently riding a six-game hitting streak and over the last 16 games he is hitting .355 with three home runs and 16 RBI. He has been fantastic against lefties so far, slashing .423/.423/.692 against them through 26 PA, compared to .283/.320/.435 against righties. Righties are slashing .264/.344/.483 against Kikuchi this season with 21 home runs and 21 doubles, compared to the .129/.172/.259 line lefties have produced with five home runs and ZERO doubles. No-brainer play.
