Top-Tier

Vladimir Guerrero Jr., TOR – Vladdy has had an incredible season, slashing .313/.403/.597 with 46 home runs, 106 RBI, 120 runs scored, and 184 total hits. He has massive reverse splits, slashing .319/.402/.620 against righties, compared to .294/.406/.524 against lefties. He has been fantastic at home, slashing .337/.430/.706, compared to .291/.378/.497 on the road. Today he faces Kluber, who also has massive reverse splits as righties are slashing .265/.362/.469 against him with ALL eight home runs that he has given up, compared to the .205/.275/.231 line that lefties have produced. On top of ALL that, Vlad is 3-4 with a dinger against Kluber in his career.

Byron Buxton, MIN – Buxton has been hot at the dish, scoring 12, 18, 7, 16, 12, and 14 points on DK over his last six games. He is now hitting .292 on the year with 16 home runs, nine steals, 18 doubles, and 2 runs scored across just 57 games played. In other words, when he has been on the field, he has been incredible and that shows in his PPG average of 9.8 on DK, which is amongst the best in the league. He has been great against southpaws this season, hitting .311 with a .363 OBP against them, compared to a .282 average and .342 OBP against righties. Righties have done the damage against Skubal this season, accounting for 31 of the 32 home runs that he has given up this season.

Mid-Tier

Ketel Marte, ARZ – Marte has missed a lot of time due to injury this season and that has limited him to just 86 games, but he has been great when healthy, slashing .317/.379/.526 on the year with 13 home runs, 27 doubles, 47 RBI, and 50 runs scored. He has crushed left-handed pitching, slashing an insane .390/.439/.743 against them, compared to .282/.351/.423 against righties. He has also been a road warrior, slashing .333/.379/.554 away from Arizona, compared to .299/.379/.497 at home. Kazmir has only pitched a few times this year, but the results haven’t been great with a 4.09 ERA and 1.46 WHIP. He is a bit on the pricey side of mid-tier, but he should be able to hit value in this matchup.

Bargain Bin

Cody Bellinger, LAD –Bellinger has been absolute dumpster fire this season, hitting .161 with 10 home runs and 35 RBI across 91 games. Who knows what even happened to him this season, but I still have no issue taking a chance on him today in a GPP at a cheap price. He has done all of his damage against righties, slashing .181/.252/.353 against them with nine home runs and nine doubles, compared to a .107/.202/.167 line against lefties with one home run and zero doubles. Today he faces Velasquez, who has a 6.22 ERA and 1.48 WHIP this season. Lefties have killed V.V, slashing .295/.384/.532 against him, compared to the .215/.321/.473 line that righties have produced. Bellinger is also 3-5 with a home run against Velasquez in his career.

Michael Conforto, NYM – Conforto has had a rough season, but he’s been much better in the second half, slashing .239/.337/.425 with 10 home runs than he was in the first half when he slashed just .202/.341/.298 with three home runs. He has also been much better against righties this year, slashing .239/.346/.442 against them with ALL 13 of his home runs and 17 of his 19 doubles, compared to .186/.324/.203 against lefties. Today he faces Cabrera, who has a 5.79 ERA and 1.67 WHIP through his first six starts at the big league level. Lefties have done the damage against him, slashing .283/.441/.609 against him, compared to the .225/.354/.400 line that righties have produced. Conforto has only faced Cabrera twice, but one of those at-bats resulted in a home run.
