Introducing the MLB Podcast

This is being added to the Playbook Pro for baseball this season. Two of us will go over the slate the night prior and bring an early look at slates! This is not the end all, be all, but something to listen to on your way to work or while sipping your morning coffee (I’m personally not a coffee guy, but I know many are). We will discuss the plays that stick out to us on our initial look, based on matchups, pricing, and so on. If you have followed along with our NBA podcast over the years, you kind of have an idea what to expect with the MLB Podcast. It has not yet been decided how often there will be a DFS podcast for baseball (daily, a couple times per week, once per week, etc) but there will be one. You can use the podcast to kind of get an idea of some plays in mind prior to the Playbook coming out, which is the biggest part of the Playbook Pro.

MLB DFS Playbook

The meat and potatoes of the Playbook Pro. That’s a saying right? Anyways, this is daily and will be your go-to spot for everything you could want to know about the slate. We breakdown multiple players at each position and why they are our top plays for the day, usually varying in price to really help you build your lineup in many different ways. You can check out some from last season here to get an idea of what to expect from the Playbook for this season. It shows each players price on all three major sites (DraftKings, FanDuel, and Yahoo) while also showing who they are facing, a breakdown, if they are a GPP play, cash game option, or eligible for both, and what the weather is looking like for that game. Still not enough? On top of breaking down our top plays position-by-position in the Playbook and everything else, we also include our top stacking options at the bottom of the Playbook. Stacking, if you don’t already know, is a huge part of finding success for MLB DFS. So, in other words, the Playbook has everything you could possibly need to be a successful player.

Core Plays

The heart of the Playbook itself. This is pretty simple, as it is the top plays of the top plays. Okay, maybe that sounds a bit confusing, but in other words we like everyone in the playbook, but the core plays are THE guys at the top of our love list for the day. The plays that will see higher exposure for our personal lineups and the ones that you want to try and build around. We have Core Plays for all three major sites and at varying price ranges including top-tier, mid-tier, and value-tier. This is also the place where you can find last minute info like weather fades, interesting lineup spots (example: a guy batting leadoff that normally bats near the bottom), and more!

Value Vault

Who doesn’t love some salary saver plays? You can take a look at an example of a Value Vault from last season here. We provide value plays from the three major sites and some plays that are values across multiple of those sites. Identifying price fails by each site can be critical. A guy can be a mid or top-tier play on one site while being the minimum price or very cheap on another. We help bring you those players that are being underpriced on certain sites to help you fill out your lineup and lock in more studs. With baseball being a daily game, sites can be slower to catch up on pricing updates at times and we can find more value on a frequent basis. Finding the right value plays is pivotal to DFS in all sports, but can be even more important in baseball, especially on slates where you have someone like deGrom and/or Cole pitching and you’re trying to find a way to get them into your lineup with their high price tags. The Value Vault is worth a read on a daily basis.

MLB DFS Tools

Beyond the written content, the MLB DFS tools are a key component when it comes to building winning MLB DFS lineups. From our Lineup Generator that is fully customizable and can build 150 lineups to our daily DFS player projections. When used in unison with our daily DFS content you will be set up for success.

That is pretty much the gist of what you can expect from the MLB Playbook Pro this season and how to go about using it. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us through discord!
