PrizePicks Prop Selections:

nitr0 (100 Thieves) - UNDER 74.5 Fantasy Score vs. Acend (Maps 1-2) - 1:00 P.M. ET

  • 100 Thieves are slight favorites at (-125) moneyline odds against Acend, but Acend were actually slightly ahead of 100T in terms of the future odds to win outright, prior to the start of this event. 100 Thieves have not lost at Berlin yet as they advanced through the winner’s bracket with victories against Havan Liberty and Gambit, though the win against Gambit required a valiant comeback. Acend beat SuperMassive Blaze to start, but then they lost to Vision Strikers, so they had to beat SMB one more time in the elimination bracket to get to this spot. Thus, 100 Thieves have looked better at Berlin, but the small sample size is not enough for me to count out Acend.
  • I’m predicting a 2-1 win for Acend in this series, and nitr0’s over would certainly be a poor prospect at this projection if 100 Thieves struggle on either of the first two maps. Acend are capable of at least winning one map, and this is just a really tough match-up for 100 Thieves to have to face at this stage of the playoffs. Sure, this could be a series with a competitive game environment, but I’d still feel pretty comfortable taking this under even if both of the first two maps stayed close given this projection that seems too high.
  • Nitr0 scored 57 fantasy points in 100 Thieves’ first series against Havan Liberty, and 70 fantasy points against Gambit across the first two maps, one of which even went the distance in a 13-11 win for 100 Thieves.
  • Nitr0 is ranked third on his team in the past three months with a 1.04 Rating, 191 average combat score, and 0.72 kills per round, behind both Asuna & Ethan in all three categories. Ethan has been in excellent form at this event and has established himself as the secondary source of firepower behind Asuna, which may take away opportunities from nitr0.
  • Nitr0 plays the controller role, which means he is setting up smokes for his team as either Astra, Omen, or Viper, depending on the map. None of these agents have much upside for fantasy production, which is another reason that the under looks great here.

TenZ (Sentinels) - OVER 85.5 Fantasy Score  vs. Envy (Maps 1-2) - 4:00 P.M. ET

  • Sentinels are heavy favorites with (-300) moneyline odds against Envy, but both maps went the distance in a 2-0 sweep for Sentinels (13-11 Icebox / 13-11  Haven) when these rosters last faced each other in August. TenZ scored 103 fantasy points with 45 kills and 13 assists across two maps in that series. That win secured Sentinels spot in Masters Berlin, so it was certainly a crucial spot just like this current playoff match-up. The teams did face in July as well, but that was prior to Envy signing yay, and they have been playing at an elite level since signing yay, so I’m not putting much weight into that prior result.
  • I’m predicting a 2-0 win for Sentinels, but I could see both maps playing out very competitively, and if Envy were to win a map, then it would probably mean a lot of rounds would end up being needed as Sentinels should put up a good fight either way. These teams were so evenly matched when we last saw them play, but Sentinels are the still the clear better team in my opinion. Sentinels have dropped a few maps at this event, but they haven’t actually had to face much pressure since they had the easiest path to playoffs in Group D with Bren Esports completely dropping out of the tournament with no replacement, meaning two of the three remaining teams in Group D automatically advanced.
  • TenZ has had some monster performances at this event, including scoring 65 points in a 13-4 win on Breeze against F4Q with 32 kills and 1 assist. He has averaged 42 fantasy points per map across 10 maps played at during the group stage of this event, but that number increases to 46 fantasy points per map if we exclude the maps that Sentinels lost. Thus, there is plenty of upside if Sentinels can beat Envy on both maps. TenZ averaged over 2.15 fantasy points per round during the group stage, and over 2.46 fantasy points per round on the six maps that Sentinels won. This projection of 85.5 can easily go over if either of these maps come close to going 24 rounds like we saw on both maps last time.
  • TenZ is at the top of his team with a 1.30 Rating, 268 average combat score, and 0.95 kills per round in the past three months. These stats put him comfortably amongst the top players in the world, especially given the level of competition that Sentinels faced during that time. He is the clear hard carry on his team, and he has looked solid at this event, so he should continue to step up now that the playoffs are here.
  • TenZ plays the duelist role, which means he plays aggressively and takes a lot of duels. He typically plays either Jett or Reyna, and both of those agents have massive upside for fantasy production, which is another reason to love this over.
