When looking at the day’s slate, I typically find a value bat that catches my eye first and becomes my favorite play of the day. However, for this 10 game Saturday slate, a pitcher that is grossly underpriced was the first one to catch my eye. Don’t worry, if you need some value bats to round out your lineup, there’s plenty of them below.

Without further ado, let’s jump into today’s Value Vault!

Both Sites

Logan Gilbert (R), SP SEA ($8,300 FD/$7,800 DK) - I saw Gilbert was pitching today and I was hoping I’d be able to include him in today’s article. Well, we get to do that, and more. There are seven more expensive pitchers than Gilbert on FanDuel and 10 on DraftKings! That’s preposterous! He has a 2.00 ERA through 18 July innings with a 23:4 K/BB ratio and he’s allowed more than three earned runs in just two appearances this year! Fire him up today and don’t look back.

Tyler Naquin (L), OF CIN ($2,700 FD/$2,600 DK) - Naquin against a righty and he’s still affordable. Thank you, FanDuel and DraftKings! Naquin is hitting .259 with 12 home runs against righties this year, and in his home park, he has a .257 average with nine home runs. St. Louis’ Jake Woodford (R) has allowed lefties to hit .351 with a .428 wOBA against him, and Naquin is hitting .318 over the last seven days. Naquin and other Cincy left-handers are excellent plays today.

FanDuel

Josh Donaldson (R), 3B MIN ($3,000) - If you’re attacking Patrick Sandoval (L), you do it with right-handed hitters. He’s allowed a .252 average to right-handed hitters this year, and the OPS is nearly .250 higher! Donaldson, to his credit, has hit lefties at a .286 clip with a .389 wOBA through 84 at-bats this year. Over the last seven days, Donaldson has homered twice, scored three runs and knocked in six himself.

AJ Pollock (R), OF LAD ($2,600) - Do you think Colorado’s Kyle Freeland (L) is sick of seeing AJ Pollock (R)? I would think so. Pollock is 9-for-25 (.360 AVG) with two home runs against the Colorado southpaw. Against lefties in general in 2021, Pollock is hitting .386 with five home runs in just 77 at-bats (15.4 AB/HR). Furthermore, at home in 2021, Pollock has six home runs in 95 at-bats (15.8 AB/HR) to go along with his .316 batting average and .411 wOBA. Lastly, on the road in 2021, Freeland is 0-2 with a 6.26 ERA.

DraftKings

Dylan Carlson (B), OF STL ($3,000) - Carlson is 4-for-7 with one home run and four RBI against Cincinnati’s Luis Castillo (R). In terms of facing a righty or being on the road, those metrics don’t favor Carlson as nice as we’d hope, but he has a great track record against Castillo, and in his last 24 at-bats, he’s hitting .350 with a 220 wRC+.

Thairo Estrada (R), SS SFG ($3,300) - Estrada is white hot, hitting .362 in the month of July with a .434 OBP and .966 OPS. He’s riding a five-game hit streak and during this stretch he has homered once, walked twice, drove in four runners and scored three times. Pittsburgh’s Wil Crowe (R) has reverse splits, as he has allowed righties to punish him (.329 BAA) and Estrada is hitting an excellent .387 against right-handers in 2021.
