Tonight’s main slate begins at 7:05pm EST and features nine games on the board! There’s a decent amount of pitching on the board, so if you don’t want to pay for Corbin Burnes, Clayton Kershaw, Robbie Ray or Lance Lynn, there’s plenty of other cost-effective options to offer you some financial flexibility. On the offensive side of the ball, there’s plenty of value to be had, which will allow you to get the big boppers from whatever team you want to target this evening. Without further ado, let’s jump in and check out the value plays of the day for Yahoo, DraftKings and FanDuel!

All Sites:

Sam Hilliard, OF COL ($2,700 FD/$2,500 DK/$16 Yahoo) - DeSclafani has good numbers against this Colorado offense when the game isn’t being played at Coors Field. His lone start against the Rockies in Coors was less than ideal, and I like a couple bats against the San Francisco right-hander this evening. Hilliard is one of those guys. He’s been better against lefties than righties, sure, but he’s posted a .389 batting average and 1.032 OPS over the last week, and he has a .575 slugging percentage at home in 2021! For what it is worth, he does have six home runs over his last 87 at-bats against righties, good for a .276 ISO and .837 OPS.

Christian Walker, 1B ARI ($2,400 FD/$2,700 DK/$12 Yahoo) - It’s time for your BvP play of the day! Walker is 7-for-21 with four home runs and seven RBI in his career against Clayton Kershaw. Righties have had better success against the future Hall of Famer compared to lefties, and Walker has a .786 OPS over his last 17 at-bats.

Yahoo:

Keibert Ruiz, C WSH ($9) - Thank you, Yahoo, for the price point here on Ruiz! The hot-hitting catcher has a .279 batting average and .325 wOBA against righties this season and Cincinnati’s Vladimir Gutierrez has struggled at home this year. His 3.80 ERA on the road looks Cy Young-esque compared to his 5.51 ERA in 47.1 innings at home this season. Here’s the kicker: In those 47.1 home innings, he’s allowed 13 home runs! Ruiz is hitting .315 with a .788 OPS in the month of September, and over the last week, he’s hitting .429 with a 1.074 OPS. Gutierrez is bad at home, Ruiz has been great on the road, and of late, so it’s a perfect storm for Ruiz today.

Willy Adames, SS MIL ($11) - Adames has hit lefties at a .246 clip with a .457 slugging percentage here in 2021. He’s sporting a quality 1.153 OPS against Mets’ pitching this season, and in the month of September, he’s totaled a .707 OPS. The Milwaukee infielder has a .280 batting average since the calendar flipped to August, and veteran southpaw Rich Hill has allowed five earned runs on 12 hits over his last 9.2 innings on the bump.

DraftKings:

Tyler Anderson, SP SEA ($7,500) - Anderson doesn’t miss a lot of bats, which is likely why his price is a bit lower than expected, but he’s been solid of late. He has 12 strikeouts and a 1.59 ERA over his last two starts, and in 10 starts with the Mariners this year (after being traded from Pittsburgh), he’s allowed more than three earned runs in just one start! In the month of September, the Los Angeles offense is tied with the Marlins for the worst batting average in baseball, and have the second-lowest OBP, slugging percentage and ISO. In short, they are struggling, so play Anderson.

Austin Hays, OF BAL ($3,400) - Jordan Lyles stinks and Austin Hays is good. Enough said. The productive outfielder has a .276 batting average and .877 OPS at home this season, and while he’s been far better against lefties, I’m not afraid to play him today against Lyles. Hays has a 1.013 OPS this month, and over his last 57 at-bats, he has a .298 batting average with six home runs, 14 RBI and nine runs scored.

FanDuel:

Ryan McMahon, 2B/3B COL ($3,300) - San Fran’s Anthony DeSclafani made one start at Coors Field this season, and it resulted in three earned runs on seven hits across just 4.1 innings of work, good for a 6.23 ERA. McMahon has an .824 OPS against righties in 2021, not to mention a .280 batting average and .482 slugging percentage at home.

Jarred Kelenic, OF SEA ($3,100) - Los Angeles’ Jaime Barria has allowed lefties to post a .291 batting average and .348 wOBA in 2021. Kelenic’s numbers against righties aren’t great, namely the .191 batting average, but the 11 home runs in 188 at-bats (17.1 AB/HR) isn’t bad! The talented youngster has an .859 OPS in the month of September, and a .913 OPS over his last 48 at-bats (5 HR).
