As we near the end of June, we have gained a better understanding of which teams are good and which teams won’t make their regional playoffs. In the LCK, one surprising team is DRX. This squad has started 4-0 and has already beaten one of the top three teams in Korea, DWG. They look to continue their winning ways on Wednesday to keep pace with the other Korean powerhouse, T1 Esports who have picked up right where they left off in Spring. In the LPL we have a slate full of middle-of-the-road teams, but any of them have potential break-out performances. Let's dive in!

League of Legends Fantasy Value Breakdown

Series #1Liiv SANDBOX v DRX

Series Breakdown: Both of the LCK matches are extremely one-sided for Wednesday. I feel like in LSB versus DRX, the biggest difference won’t be in mechanical skill; instead, DRX will win through map state. DRX, especially through the play of Pyosik, have shown a mastery of working the map to pick up early advantages and snowball objectives and gold into the mid-to-late game. I have also been impressed by the work Zeka has put in. The DRX mid-laner dropped 93 points in his last series with 14 kills and 10 assists. He has one of the best returns on investment in pro League of Legends and definitely someone I would flag to pick up. LSB will focus on trying to get their ADC (Prince) on a pick that can carry late-game team fights and drag the game out as long as possible.

Favorite Picks: Zeka (DRX: $11,100/$7,400), Pyosik (DRX: $6,800), DRX ($5,800)

Value Picks: Prince (LSB: $6,200), Kael (LSB: $4,600)

Cann’s Match Pick: DRX (2-0)

Series #2Rare Atom v FunPlus Phoenix

Series Breakdown: FunPlus Phoenix has made some serious changes to their roster and coaching staff this Summer. DraftKings is thinking along the same lines with how closely the two squads are priced together, regardless of FPX’s 0-5 start. The newest, and arguably most important addition, is the resigning LCS MVP, Summit coming to play top lane. If he is able to make the starting lineup, I instantly have more faith in this team because of how he plays the lane and what types of pressure he can cause in a role that most teams underuse. RA won’t put as many resources top because they focus primarily on giving iBoy as much freedom and resources that focus can’t go elsewhere. The two bottom lanes are pretty evenly matched, so FPX’s Lwx may have a better chance of looking like his previous self in this series. Either way, it goes, I expect it to be a relatively close set of matches.

Favorite Picks: Leyan (RA: $6,400), Strive (RA: $7,200), iBoy (RA: $7,400)

Value Picks: Summit (FPX: $5,600 - GAME TIME DECISION!), Hang (FPX: $4,800), FunPlus Phoenix ($5,000)

Cann’s Match Pick: FunPlus Phoenix (2-1)

Series #3: Kwangdong Freecs v T1 Esports

Series Breakdown: The salary gaps between these two teams says it all. T1 is just on a different planet at this point and this series could honestly be a sub-two-hour series. Gumayusi looks to be a little more comfortable with this meta (as compared to the MSI meta) and it shows in his stats. 5.6 KDA with 36 kills in 9 games is putting him at a great current pace. T1’s greatest MSI performer, Zeus, should also have a significant advantage over his lane opponent. Kiin is averaging under 40 total FPPG and nearly 40 less that Zues, which makes the team outlook for KDF seem pretty bleak.

Favorite Picks: Gumayusi (T1: $12,000/$8,000), Zeus (T1: $6,600), Keira (T1: $6,000), T1 Esports ($6,200)

Value Picks: FATE (KDF: $6,400), Teddy (KDF: $6,600)

Cann’s Match Pick: T1 Esports (2-0

Series #4Weibo Gaming v Ultra Prime

Series Breakdown: Another really close matchup between two LPL teams. They have basically the same record (3-2 versus 2-2) and game score (7-7 versus 6-5) and both are equally bland in my mind. Weibo rely on the play of Angel and huanfeng who may be the most unreliable carries in all of pr League of Legends DFS. They will have one series where they score 80+ points and the next they scrape together 40. WBG has more experience than most LPL teams (they were previously Suning) but this isn’t the case with Ultra Prime and the likes of Elk and Cryin. That being said, it won’t be either of those two players who will win it for Ultra Prime instead, it will be their jungler, H4cker. He is aggressive and can carry his team’s damage numbers better than most LPL junglers. He brings creativity to the table in a role where most copy each other. This gives him an advantage in the draft because H4cker is almost impossible to ban out. I don’t think he will be enough to carry the day but I do suspect this series going the distance.

Favorite Picks: TheShy (WBG: $6,000), huanfeng (WBG: $7,600)

Value Picks: H4cker (UP: $6,200), Cryin (UP: $7,000), ShiauC (UP: $5,000)

Cann’s Match Pick: Weibo Gaming (2-1)
