Weather already removed two games from this slate, narrowing our focus. There will be many paths during a build in tonight's contests, if searching for upside plays at a lower price, you've come to the right place. Heed the advice, trust your instincts and best of luck tonight if playing MLB DFS!

Both Sites

Austin Hays, Baltimore - OF ($3,100 on DraftKings, $2,800 on FanDuel)

Most will be researching how exploiting Matt Harvey may pay dividends this evening, but do not overlook the Orioles. Hays enters this contest with a .301 average versus southpaws with 10 doubles and eight home runs in 146 at-bats this year. He's also producing over the last two weeks with a .302/.318/.488 slash line providing 14 runs plus RBI, one home run and one stolen base. Armed with a .247 isolated power and .548 slugging rate versus southpaws and Steven Matz on the bump puts Hays in a nice spot tonight without fanfare.

Darin Ruf, San Francisco - 1B/OF ($3,200 on DraftKings) OF ($2,600 on FanDuel)

A staple in our advisory columns with a left-handed pitcher on tap for the Giants, Ruf remains a solid pivot at his price point, aided by multiple spots on DraftKings. Through 92 at-bats this year against southpaws, he's produced 13 extra-base hits (five doubles, eight home runs) fueling a robust .315 isolated power, a 1.001 OPS and .416 wOBA. He's also familiar with tonight's opponent going 3-for-6 with a home run, a .432 xBA and .901 xSLG versus Brett Anderson in previous match-ups.

DraftKings Only

Joe Ryan, Minnesota - SP ($5,000)

Armed with tremendous command, Ryan's already appeared in the Olympics and honed his craft with strong results in Triple-A this year as well. Since being acquired by the Twins, he's made two starts spanning nine innings giving up five hits, two earned runs, a 2.00 ERA and a 0.78 WHIP for their Triple-A affiliate. He's also racked up 17 strikeouts against two walks in these outings. His last start lasted five innings, but facing the Cubs could make for a nice debut. Ryan's strikeout acumen matches up well with the team which struck out the most in the majors during August, at a 30.9 percent clip. At the minimum for a starter as an SP2 with upside, pivoting to this young pitcher opens up room for getting Salvador Perez or Vlad Guerrero Jr. in your GPP builds.

Andrew Velazquez, New York Yankees - SS ($2,100)

At only $100 over the minimum pricing, a sneaky stack of Yankees with Velasquez potentially hitting ninth ahead of the top of the lineup represents a nice option tonight. Over the last two weeks he's accrued 35 plate appearances with seven runs, three doubles, a triple, a home run, four RBI and three stolen bases with a .294/.314/.529 slash line. If he's in the lineup, a flier here could provide three times value.

FanDuel Only

Josh Donaldson, Minnesota - 3B ($3,200)

There's no questioning if Donaldson's healthy, he produces. Tonight, he gets a rookie left-handed pitcher at home who averages 2.6 home runs allowed per nine innings versus right-handed hitters. Our target, Donaldson owns a .289/.373/.689 slash line his last two weeks with five home runs and 10 RBI in 51 plate appearances. Of his 33 batted ball events in this time frame, he's generated nine barrels (27.3 percent) and 19 hard hits (average exit velocity of 95 MPH or better). As a sweetener, he's produced four doubles and eight home runs in 112 at-bats facing lefties this season. Get some shares of "Dongalson” tonight.

Amed Rosario, Cleveland - SS/OF ($3,200)

Another target with multiple eligibility opens avenues during builds. Rosario racked up five hits and two home runs last night, so this should be unrepeatable. However, he's hitting a robust .404/.442/.702 his last 52 plate appearances and a streaky hitter. So ride the heater. Boasting a .298 isolated power and .506 wOBA into tonight's match-up versus Jackson Kowar and a tired Royals bullpen may put him into another smash spot this evening.
