A limited slate and an earlier lock with many focused on football may yield results for the MLB DFS diehards. On any small slate, focus on cash games with some GPP potential but there will not be huge variation in the field. DraftKings will be using five games starting at 6:40 p.m. EST and FanDuel will only use the games after 7:00 p.m. Use the value vault, pitching coach and the playbook as resources during your build and best of luck!

Top Tier

Salvador Perez, Kansas City - C ($6,100 on DraftKings, $3,900 on FanDuel)

Although the price on DraftKings appears obnoxious, think of Perez as an elite tight end, one must pay full retail when targeting him. He trails Shohei Ohtani by one for the major league lead in home runs and leads the majors with 21 home runs in the second half. Perez has driven in 10 runs over the last five games with at least an RBI in four of them. He's 7-for-24 (.292) his last six games facing the Orioles with three home runs and eight RBI. And, he's recorded a .356 isolated power, a 1.010 OPS and a .309 average with 17 home runs in 159 plate appearances versus southpaws this year. Fade at your own risk.

Austin Riley, Atlanta - 3B (5,700 on DraftKings, $3,700 on FanDuel)

Another appearance on the hitting coach for Riley, but he rakes against right-handed pitching hitting 27 of his 29 home runs this year facing them. He's also hitting .312 with a .962 OPS and .258 isolated power versus same side pitching and Fedde owns an ERA over six in the second half giving up a .367 wOBA overall. Thinking many will migrate towards Freddie opening up Riley as the upside play tonight.

Mid Tier

Pete Alonso, New York Mets - 1B ($4,800 on DraftKings)

Note the only site he's available on, Alonso could be in a smash spot. He's hit 21 home runs since June 28th and leads the majors with 23 home runs on the road this year. He also averages a home run every 9.33 at-bats versus left-handed pitching and faces Jesús Luzardo tonight in Miami in a must win game for the Mets. As a sweetener, he's slashing .342/.398/.676 since August 10th over 28 games and 123 plate appearances with eight home runs driving in 21. On FanDuel, pivot towards C.J. Cron, facing a left-handed pitcher in a hitter-friendly park at Philadelphia as a stand alone option for the Rockies.

Cedric Mullins, Baltimore - OF ($4,700 on DraftKings, $3,400 on FanDuel)

Went hitless against a southpaw last night, but Mullins should bounce back tonight versus Carlos Hernández. Through 367 plate appearances this year, he owns a .313/.380/.577 slash against right-handed pitching with 21 doubles, four triples, 19 home runs and 92 runs plus RBI. Add in his .264 isolated power with a .956 OPS for success on this slate tonight.

Bargain Bats

Eddie Rosario, Atlanta - OF ($3,400 on DraftKings, $2,900 on FanDuel)

During his limited time in Atlanta off of the injured list, Rosario boasts a .389 isolated power with a 1.131 OPS over 22 plate appearances versus right-handed pitching with a double, two home runs and a .333 average. More impressive, he's drawn three walks without striking out in them. Noting Fedde gives up hits and extra-base hits against both sides of the plate, keep Eddie the Eagle in mind when targeting upside at his price point.

Kevin Pillar, New York Mets - OF ($3,000 on DraftKings)

Staying with a hitter on a hot streak with a pathway to at-bats, Pillar's 11-for-his-last-29 (.379) with four home runs and 10 RBI his last 10 contests. Gets the splits advantage and should be in the outfield for the Mets in a sneaky play tonight. On FanDuel, pivot towards Edward Olivares who killed southpaws in the minors if he's in the lineup tonight for the Royals.
