Tuesday is often one of the best days of the week for MLB DFS, and tonight is no different. DraftKings gives us 15 a game MLB DFS main slate while we get 14 games over at FanDuel and Yahoo Fantasy with the difference being the nightcap of the Cleveland and Minnesota double-header. With a full plate of options, although we do have a Coors Field game, your lineups can really go in any direction and it is important to follow along with the latest MLB news, MLB weather, and MLB lineups. Now, let’s take a look at some of those MLB DFS value options we will be targeting.

DFS Value Pitchers

Ross Stripling (TOR); DraftKings - $5,100; FanDuel - $6,700; Yahoo - $30

While it does feel a little strange to target the Red Sox offense, they did score just two runs last night and they are missing their lead-off hitter (Jarren Duran) with the series taking place in Toronto. It’s also pretty difficult to ignore Stripling’s price, especially on DK where it has dropped by $1,800 over three starts despite recent success. Stripling picked up the victory against the White Sox in his last start with six innings of one-run ball while scattering five hits and one walk to go along with five strikeouts and nine groundball outs. Through 23.1 innings in June, Stripling has an ERA of just 1.16 with 16 strikeouts, and opposing hitters are batting just .183 against him. Over 52.2 innings this season, Stripling has a 3.08 ERA (2.86 FIP) go along with a 53.2% ground ball. The value might be creating a trap, but it is one I am willing to fall into.

Shane Baz (TB); DraftKings - $7,600; FanDuel - $7,200; Yahoo - $38

While Milwaukee is a formidable opponent, they also are not a team that is going to truly strike fear in opposing pitchers. Baz has three starts under his belt so far this year after getting a delayed start to the season and he has already reached six innings once and has a season high of 78 pitches. After allowing five runs over 2.1 innings in his first start of the year, Baz has allowed just one run over 10.2 innings on six hits and two walks while striking out 13. Baz is a talented pitcher who already seems to be close to mid-season form.

DFS Value Hitters

Michael Chavis, 1B (PIT); DraftKings - $2,000; FanDuel - $2,500; Yahoo - $14

After hitting home runs in back-to-back games, Chavis has gone hitless over the last three but facing Patrick Corbin tonight should get him to backtrack. So far this season Corbin has faced 278 right-handed batters and, in the process, he has allowed 10 home runs with opposing hitters posting a .306 batting average. This plays perfectly into Chavis’ skill set as he is batting .300 against southpaws in 80 at bats with five home runs and 14 RBI.

Juan Yepez, 1B/OF (STL); DraftKings - $3,900; FanDuel - $2,400; Yahoo - $13

Yepez is coming off a two-home run effort last night which gave him three in two days to go along with a modest four-game hitting streak. In 21 games so far this month, Yepez is hitting .288 with five home runs and 16 RBI as he has gotten his major league career off to a solid start with nine home runs and 24 RBI in 47 games. With a 19.4-degree launch angle, home runs are a key part of Yepez’s game and he has posted a solid 9.9% barrel rate.

Yonathan Daza, OF (COL); DraftKings - $2,700; FanDuel - $2,700; Yahoo - $11

While it is Clayton Kershaw on the mound against Daza and the Rockies tonight, it is still Coors Field so we are going to want some exposure. Daza, who bats at the top of the order for Colorado provides just that and it comes at a fair price. The outfielder is never going to get confused with a power hitter, but Daza is hitting a solid .311 so far this season in 213 plate appearances and the outfielder has come around to score 27 times while driving in 17 runs. Daza only strikes out 11.3% of the time to go along with a 7% walk rate so we have to like his ability to put the bat on the ball and get on base.

Trayce Thompson, OF (LAD); DraftKings - $2,000; FanDuel - $2,500; Yahoo - $17

There is a clear theme here as we look for low-cost options for a Coors Field stack or mini-stack, and it’s hard to ignore Thompson at his price. In 13 games so far this season, Thompson is batting just .182 while striking out 44.4% of the time but he does have seven RBI and has hit a home run. With Kyle Freeland taking the mound for Colorado, the opportunity for a big night for the Dodgers offensively is there, so let’s see what he can do. The sample size is obviously pretty small here, but including Thompson as part of a Dodgers or Coors Field, GPP stack helps to provide some cost savings while also bringing some upside to the table.
