Mike Trout OVER 1.5 Total Bases

This sounds like a cop-out, but I will continue to take the Mike Trout over props every night he faces a mediocre pitcher- especially a right-hander. Enter Taylor Hearn of the Royals. Hearn comes into tonight’s game with an xFIP of 4.93 while allowing 45.9% hard contact and over the last five games has a 5.91 ERA and 1.50 WHIP. He is allowing a .292 ISO and .364 wOBA to right-handed bats on the season and tonight will be facing one of the best right-handed bats of his generation in Mike Trout. The Angels superstar has a mind-blowing .370 ISO and .516 wOBA against southpaws this season and has 5 HR and 15 RB over his last 20 games with a 185 wRC+. Lock him in.

J.D. Martinez OVER 1.5 Total Bases

Right-hander José Urquidy of the Astros has stumbled out of the gate and really hasn’t pitched much better in the month of May. Over his last five starts, he has a 4.94 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP and is only striking out 6.5/9. He is also a reverse splits pitcher and gets smoked by right-handed bats to the tune of a .203 ISO, .341 wOBA, 46.3% flyball, and 50% hard contact. This is close to a match made in heaven for J.D. Martinez who is hammering the reverse split this season with a .244 ISO, .394 wOBA and has 18 HR and 60 RBI in the split over the last 150 games. Martinez is hitting .350 with a .225 ISO, .403 wOBA, and 3 HR/13 RBI over the last 20 games plus gets the wind blowing out tonight in Fenway.

Aaron Judge OVER 1.5 Total Bases

Aaron Judge is in a total smash tonight. He faces one of the worst right-handers in the American League; Spenser Watkins. Over the last two seasons, he is sporting a horrible 5.98 xFIP, is not missing bats at all (12.9% K rate), and is giving up tons of hard contact (49%). He actually is worse against right-handed bats where he has allowed a .326 ISO and .429 wOBA with a 5.14 SIERA. Judge destroys right-handed pitching, especially fastballs, and over 50% of Watkins pitchers to the right side are fastballs. He has a .463wOBA, .627 CXwOBA, .393 ISO, and 60% hard contact against that pitch. Easily take the over on Aaron Judge's total bases tonight.
