Map Projections:

Liquid removes Nuke

Astralis removes Dust2

Liquid picks Mirage

Astralis picks Overpass

Liquid removes Inferno

Astralis removes Vertigo

Ancient is left over

Prediction/Narrative: Liquid wins 2-1.

These rosters haven’t played each other yet, but there is a ton of history between these teams. Astralis used to dominate this match-up and won 11 times in a row from 2019 through 2021. Liquid finally got a couple of wins against Astralis at the end of 2021 with their ‘dead roster’ before they added oSee, shox, and nitr0, but at least they were able to finally beat gla1ve & co. which should give them some confidence moving forward. As for this event, Liquid have statistically been the better team with a 1.03 Team Rating compared to 0.99 for Astralis. BlameF has been incredible for Astralis as the second highest-rated player at the event with a 1.40 Rating across five maps played, but the rest of his team is not carrying their weight with k0nfig at a mere 0.96 Rating so far. Astralis are also in a tough spot because their best map is Nuke, and Liquid will ban that immediately. Additionally, Ancient is Astralis’ most played map, but Liquid have won four in a row on Ancient, so the Danes may consider floating it through as the decider. If we look at Astralis’ results without including Nuke & Ancient, they have just a 10-12 W/L record across 22 maps played. Overall, I think the map pool looks fine for Liquid as the underdog, and I think they are capable of getting the win here against this iteration of Astralis. The pricing on Liquid is much cheaper on Draftkings and I really like targeting them for value.

  • On Mirage, NAF leads Liquid with a 1.28 Rating, while EliGE leads with a 1.31 K/D ratio across 10 maps played in the past three months.
  • On Overpass, oSee leads Liquid with a 1.15 Rating and 1.25 K/D ratio across six maps played in the past three months.
  • On Ancient, EliGE leads Liquid with a 1.23 Rating, while NAF leads with a 1.15 K/D ratio across 9 maps played in the past three months.

MiBR (World rank: #25) vs. Bad News Eagles (World rank: #26) - 9:45 A.M. ET

Moneyline Odds: MiBR (-105) | Bad News Eagles (-115)

Map Handicap: MiBR +1.5 (-340) | Bad News Eagles -1.5 (+265)

  • This is a best-of-three series on LAN for PGL Major Antwerp 2022 Challengers Stage - Swiss Round Four (Teams with a 2-2 record). Winning team advances to the Legends stage, losing team is eliminated.

H2H Data:

Map Projections:

Bad News Eagles removes Overpass

MiBR removes Mirage

Bad News Eagles picks Inferno

MiBR picks Nuke

Bad News Eagles removes Vertigo

MiBR removes Ancient

Dust2 is left over

Prediction/Narrative: MiBR wins 2-0.

MiBR have been the clear better team at this event. They currently sit as the sixth highest-rated team at the Challengers Stage with a 1.05 Team Rating across five maps played. Meanwhile, Bad News Eagles have not been overly impressive as the 13th highest-rated team at the event with a 0.93 Team Rating across five maps played, ahead of only Complexity, 9z, and Renegades, who are all already eliminated. This MiBR lineup has been good for a while now with a 50-17 W/L record across 67 maps played, and they played some tight maps against Astralis and Outsiders, so it seems they can hang within international play. I’m not quite sure why the oddsmakers have Bad News Eagles as the slight favorite here based on the recent form of these teams. MiBR should remove Mirage to start, which takes away one of BNE’s best maps. Bad News Eagles would then be left with either Inferno or Ancient, both of which have been strong for MiBR as well. MiBR have a 9-2 W/L record on Inferno in the past three months, and they won both times they played on Ancient during that time. JOTA has also been playing extremely well at the Major as the ninth highest-rated player, and I expect him to be the best player on the server on Thursday. Ultimately, I think MiBR have a great chance of winning, and a good chance of sweeping against an overhyped Bad News Eagles team.

  • On Inferno, chelo leads MiBR with a 1.29 Rating, while JOTA leads with a 1.45 K/D ratio across 11 maps played in the past three months.
  • On Nuke, JOTA leads with a 1.30 Rating, while exit leads with a 1.29 K/D ratio across 12 maps played in the past three months.
  • On Dust2, JOTA leads with a 1.29 Rating and 1.32 K/D ratio across 20 maps played in the past three months.

Favorite Draftkings Plays (In order of priority):

JOTA ($8,600) | chelo ($7,200) | exit ($5,800) | Tuurtle ($6,400) | WOOD7 ($4,400) | gxx- ($6,800) | juanflatroo ($9,400)
