Friday night’s three-game WNBA DFS slate is challenging. There are plenty of talented players on the slate, but most of those have been inconsistent of late – mostly due to fluctuations in playing time. The few players who don’t fall into that category are obviously quite expensive for WNBA DFS lineups. Affording even one top-tier player is a challenge due to the lack of value plays. Victoria Vivians would open up some valuable playing time in Indiana if her shoulder injury keeps her out, but beyond that, the cheap players cost so little for a reason. In these types of slates, I tend to play more tournament WNBA daily fantasy lineups. If you can’t count on any of the cheap plays, you may as well take a swing that the ones you play will return some value. Now let's take a look at the WNBA DFS top plays on DraftKings and FanDuel for Friday, July 1st.

WNBA DFS Top Guards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Destanni HendersonINDSEA430012.74340012.40
Henderson has averaged 19.3 FPPG as a starter, and she would have an excellent chance to start if Victoria Vivians is out. Even if she comes off the bench, Henderson would be a solid value play if Vivians cannot go.
Riquna WilliamsLVMIN450011.75420011.05
Williams has only played four games this season due to a foot injury, and nobody would be shocked if she plays better as her injury is further in the rearview. Perhaps more importantly, Minnesota is 11th in fantasy points allowed to guards. Williams is capable of scoring 20+ fantasy points in 16 minutes and while I don't necessarily want to count on that, I'm willing to take a shot at her price.
Brittney SykesLADAL790025.51720026.92
Sykes has at least 31 minutes, 15 field goal attempts and 27.25 fantasy points in three consecutive games despite shooting 33 percent from the field in that span. She has averaged 32.4 fantasy points and 25.0 minutes in two games against Dallas and while I don't expect her to shoot much better than 33 percent, she can't get much worse.
Arike OgunbowaleDALLA1100031.54810030.07
The top guards all have nice matchups and they are all looking to bounce back to some degree. If recent history has taught us anything, it is that Ogunbowale is safe for at least a couple of games every time she struggles. She has at least 39 fantasy points in five of her last seven games, including against Los Angeles two weeks ago.
Chelsea GrayLVMIN840028.36660028.49
Gray has surprisingly taken a back seat to the Aces' other two guards this season, but she has arguably been the most consistent of the three. She is averaging 36.1 fantasy points against the Lynx and has at least 28 fantasy points in six of her last seven games.

WNBA DFS Top Forwards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Emily EngstlerINDSEA610019.14500020.07
Engstler may make more sense in the starting lineup over Destanni Henderson considering Indiana has to match up with either Breanna Stewart or Gabby Williams at the three. Engstler averaged 23 FPPG in four starts, and Seattle is ninth in fantasy points allowed to forwards.
Liz CambageLADAL820028.15690028.88
Cambage has averaged 40 fantasy points in 24 minutes in two games against her former team. Dallas is 11th in fantasy points allowed to forwards, and while Nneka Ogwumike is safer, Cambage is cheaper with just as much upside.
Breanna StewartSEAIND1150042.04880042.90
Stewart had the worst shooting game of the season Wednesday and played her fewest minutes in over three weeks. She still finished with 33.25 fantasy points. Indiana ranks 11th in fantasy points to forwards and Stewart looks like the safest play on the board.
A'Ja WilsonLVMIN1130040.79900041.36
Wilson has a tougher matchup than Stewart on paper, but Wilson has averaged 43.4 fantasy points in two games against Minnesota this season. She has at least 36 fantasy points in seven straight games and I see no reason she wouldn't make it eight in-a-row.
Katie Lou SamuelsonLADAL620018.89510018.28
Samuelson has at least eight field goal attempts in five straight games. She shot better than 30 percent in two of those games, scoring at least 29 fantasy points in each. She is a GPP play but at her price I will gladly take a chance on her making a few shots.
PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Damiris DantasMINLV670015.31470014.24
Dantas has topped 20 fantasy points in two of her last three games, and her price on FanDuel hasn't caught up to that. She isn't exactly safe, but her defense should keep her on the floor in a tough matchup.
Aerial PowersMINLV880025.89630025.49
Powers is one of the rare safe mid-priced forwards on the slate. This is especially true on FanDuel, where she is cheaper. She has at least 23 fantasy points in three straight games and six of her last seven. She is averaging 35.6 fantasy points in two games against Las Vegas this season.
