We hesitate to say the Bengals losing Joe Burrow early in this game was good for Chase’s fantasy output, but the star wideout dominated with Jake Browning under center. The Bengals made the entire plane out of easy looks to Chase once Burrow went down, fueling him to his best fantasy outing since Week 14 of last year. Browning is an obvious downgrade from Burrow, but Zac Taylor knows how to make things easy for his backup by getting the ball in Chase’s hands. Chase remains a WR1 even if Burrow is out for Week 3 against the Vikings.

Despite feasting in the preseason, Chase and the Bengals’ offense once again got off to a slow start, although it didn’t cost them a win this time around. The Bengals couldn’t mount a ground game and were stuck taking underneath throws for most of the contest, limiting Chase’s fantasy usage. It was his first two-catch game since Week 18 of the 2021 season. Chase is all but guaranteed to be more involved when the Bengals take on the Jags next week. Fantasy managers can keep rolling him out as a top-end WR1.

Chase made it look easy, forcing two missed tackles while averaging 19.3 yards per reception. He remains in contention for the 1.01 pick in PPR leagues, catching passes from the surgical Joe Burrow.
