Chris Ellis has signed with the Long Island Ducks of the independent Atlantic League.
Ellis is back for another stint on Long Island this year after being released a couple weeks ago by the Diamondbacks. The 31-year-old righty hasn’t appeared in the majors since making 10 appearances (eight starts) between the Royals, Rays and Orioles from 2019-2022.

Ellis decided to rest the open market rather than accept an outright assignment from the Orioles. The 30-year-old thew just 4 1/3 innings in the majors this season before undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder in May.
Orioles activated RHP Chris Ellis from the 60-day injured list; sent him outright to Triple-A Norfolk.
