Orioles sent LHP Alexander Wells outright to Triple-A Norfolk.
Wells has recovered from an injury to his pitching elbow, but the O's elected to remove him from the 40-man roster. He'll remain at Norfolk as depth.
Alexander Wells (elbow) tossed two scoreless innings on Friday in a minor league rehab start for Triple-A Norfolk.
Wells scattered one hit and notched one strikeout, throwing 22 pitches (18 strikes) over two efficient frames. The 25-year-old lefty figures to make it back to the Orioles' pitching staff sometime this month. He's been out since early May due to a left elbow UCL sprain.
