2025 Player Outlook

The real question when it comes to Royce Lewis is how high would he go in drafts if you were guaranteed a full season's workload? He's been limited to 58 and 82 games respectively in the last two seasons, but when he's been on the field, the fantasy production has been quite noteworthy. In 2023, he hit 15 home runs with six stolen bases and a .309 average, and in 2024, while he hit just .233, he had 32 XBH in 325 plate appearances. His average exit velocity dipped last season, but the barrel rate remained strong, and he's a tough guy to pitch to, as he posted a .495 SLG against breaking pitches last year, and he hit fastballs at a .343 clip in 2023. A lengthier trip to the IL isn't quite baked into the price, but as long as he can avoid a lengthy stay on the injured list, Lewis could flirt with 30 home runs and a .260 average in 2025. High risk, high reward pick.

Finally showing some signs of life, this was Lewis’ second three-hit game in the last week and a half and he has five homers and 13 RBI over his last 15 games. Those stolen bases may be the most encouraging sign though. He has three in his last six contests and that’s a great sign that he’s feeling good physically. Here’s to hoping for one of those classic red-hot streaks to close out the season.

Lewis singled off of Wandy Peralta in the fourth inning and scored on a two-run single off the bat of Trevor Larnach. He then clobbered a 405-foot (105.3 mph EV) solo shot off of David Morgan in the fifth inning that increased the Twins’ lead to 6-2. His bat has started to show signs of life in recent weeks but he’s still slashing a woeful .229/.290/.384 with nine homers and 36 RBI in 297 plate appearances on the season.

The 26-year-old slugger crushed a 387-foot (99.1 mph EV) solo shot off of Tyler Alexander in the seventh inning that pulled the Twins to within three runs at 6-3. That would be as close as they would get. Lewis struck out in each of his other three at-bats in the ballgame. Even with his recent hot stretch, he’s still hitting just .233/.292/.387 with eight home runs and 34 RBI on the season.
