Mike Trout was scratched from the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Royals with a skin infection.
No word yet regarding the severity of the issue, but the positive news is it’s unrelated to his surgically repaired knee. Jo Adell moved over to DH with Chris Taylor entering the lineup in right field. There should be an update from Angels interim manager Ray Montgomery following the contest. Fantasy managers should consider Trout day-to-day heading into Wednesday’s contest in Kansas City.
Mike Trout doubled twice and knocked in a run Sunday against the Astros.
It’s a rare two-double game from Trout, who entered with just 10 two-baggers this season. His last such game came on Apr. 23, 2023, though he’s had five two-homer games since then. His second double today was a 404-foot shot off the wall in left-center. Statcast says it would have been a homer in 21 ballparks.
Mike Trout is out of the lineup for Monday’s series opener against the Rangers.
Trout went 0-for-10 with seven strikeouts during the Angels’ three-game series sweep at the hands of the Cubs. The 34-year-old generational superstar could probably use a break after starting 72 of 76 games since returning from the injured list back on May 30.
Mike Trout went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer in Wednesday’s loss to the Rays.
Trout took Rays starter Shane Baz deep in the third inning of Wednesday afternoon’s matinee in Los Angeles for his 20th big fly of the season and 398th career round-tripper.
