Jonah Heim went 1-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored, a home run and two RBI against the Braves on Friday.
Jonah Heim collected his eighth homer and his sixth double Wednesday versus the Orioles.
Heim hasn’t been great in batting .230/,266/.380, but the Rangers have favored him over Kyle Higashioka, who is receiving less playing time than it looked like he would at the beginning of the year. The start tonight was Heim’s 56th in the Rangers’ 81 games; he’s caught 47 times and DH’d on nine occasions.

Catchers are tough. Heim was at DH during Thursday’s game before returning to handle the catching duties during Friday’s contest after leaving Wednesday’s game against the Yankees with a compressed nerve in his right hand. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern moving forward.
Jonah Heim was removed from Wednesday’s game against the Yankees with a compressed nerve in his right hand.
It’s a bit unclear whether the issue is serious enough to warrant a trip to the injured list, but the Rangers can probably afford to give him a few days to rest and recover since they’re presently carrying three catchers on their active roster. The 29-year-old backstop appeared to injure his hand on a swing early in Wednesday’s game at Yankee Stadium and was forced to leave the contest. There should be an update on his status ahead of Thursday’s series finale, weather permitting.
