Top Tier

Gerrit Cole, SP NY - Are we sure Cole hasn't gone back to using the “sticky stuff”? Over his last four outings he has allowed just two earned runs while striking out 39 over 24.2 innings. He faces a powerful Blue Jays lineup tonight but he is 2-0 in three starts against Toronto this season with a 2.33 ERA while having striking out 20 over 19.1 innings. He is expensive but he is pitching like one of the best pitchers in baseball right now.

Blake Snell, SP SD - Snell tossed seven no-hit innings in his last start, striking out 10 and walking just two. The strike out numbers have always been elite with Snell but he struggled to pitch deep enough into games earlier in the season. Right now however that has changed and over his last 10 games he has a 3.13 ERA with 69 strike outs over 54.2 innings. He has been unreal at home this season, posting a 2.50 ERA over 11 starts with 88 strikeouts over 61.1 innings.

Mid Tier

Eduardo Rodríguez, SP BOS - The Red Sox really need a strong outing from ERod here who just faced the Rays in his last start and tossed six shutout innings while walking one. In three starts against Tampa this year he has a 2.60 ERA while striking out 21 over 17.1 innings. This feels like a good matchup for ERod once again.

Max Fried, SP ATL - His recent starts against Washington have been pretty good, allowing just two runs over 12 innings while striking out 12. Overall he has been a bit more up and down, posting a 4.77 ERA over six appearances. Fried does have a 2.02 ERA over his last 10 so the Nats are not catching him at a good time.

Steven Matz, SP TOR - Another southpaw in a good matchup today! Matz has a 2.66 ERA over his last 10 starts and had success against the Yankees already this year, holding them to just one run over 6.2 innings while striking out 10. The big issue here is that Gerrit Cole is on the mound opposite of him tonight which may hurt his win bonus potential.

Value Tier

Zac Gallen SP, ARI - I know things have been a bit up and down for Gallen lately but no better way to find some consistency than by facing the Texas Rangers. The Rangers this season rank 28th in average and 26th in wOBA against RHP this season with a 23.9% strikeout rate. They are also in a National League park tonight which means they lose their DH. I like the upside here with Gallen.
