Top Tier
Lucas Giolito, SP CWS - Giolito has allowed just one earned run over his last two starts and now draws the woeful Detroit Tigers who were held to one run by Lance Lynn on Friday evening. I know the season stats for Giolito against the Tigers are not great but this is a Detroit team that is just playing out the final weekend before heading to the golf course and I think that plays to his advantage.
Corbin Burnes, SP MIL - ELITE strikeout play here with Burnes who has 34 strikeouts over his last 21 innings. During that stretch he has allowed just four earned runs and is 2-0. The Dodgers lineups is certainly a tough one to battle through and this will be Burnes first meeting against them this season but I will always go with the power pitcher here.
Zac Gallen, SP ARI - Any time we can get Rockies hitters away from Coors Field it is an advantage for the pitcher, even if this game is being played in a hitters park like Arizona. Gallen just faced the Dodgers and held them to one run over six innings while striking out eight. He has at least seven strikeouts in three of the last four starts. In two games against the Rockies this season he has struck out 16 over 11 innings.
Mid Tier
Kris Bubic, SP KC - Really solid stretch here for Bubic who hasn't allowed more than two earned runs in any of his last four outings. He is not an elite strikeout pitcher, topping out at six strikeouts twice during this four game stretch but a matchup against the Twins is one of those games he had the six. The Royals have won each of his last two starts, and in those games he has allowed just one run over 13.1 innings.
Antonio Senzatela, SP ARI - I generally like to go at Senzatela but he has actually been a pretty serviceable starter this season. Sure, he doesn't go out there and light up the place, but he is an innings eater that has gotten into the sixth inning in eight of his last 10 starts. I like him more on FanDuel where you get the bonus points for quality starts.
Value Tier
Jhonathan Diaz, SP LAA - Diaz just faced Seattle in his last outing and shut them down, allowing just one run over seven innings on three hits while striking out four. The Mariners are in a must-win situation as they fight for the last Wild Card slot so it is possible that getting to see Diaz for the second time here in a week will be to their advantage but on a slate with few value options and given his recent success in this exact same spot I think we should look to take a shot.
