Today's Top Plays

Joel Embiid OVER 14.5 First Half Points

I mean, if you listened to the NBA DFS Podcast  then you heard me say that if this line was under 15.5 that I was going to be hammering it and here we are with Embiid's first half point total sitting at 14.5. During the month of January Embiid has hit this number in seven of the nine games. He has a great matchup tonight against a Clippers team that struggles to defend opposing centers and who were just torched by Nikola Jokic just the other night for 49 points. The usage rate for JoJo right now is insane and I am going to continue to go back to the well on this prop play when the matchup is right.

Christian Wood OVER 16.5 Points

I think we are taking advantage of the algorithms right here. In the past we have been all over the Christian Wood point's prop when it was at 17.5 and 18.5 points so there is no reason for us not to hammer this one tonight when we are looking at an even lower number. The Warriors are coming off a stunning overtime loss to the Pacers last night and there were reports prior to the game that the team was feeling a bit warn out given their recent schedule of play. The Warriors are without Draymond Green still and while Kevon Looney is a good rebounder, he isn't near the level of a defender that Green is. The Warriors are also starting foul happy rookie Jonathan Kuminga at power forward and he could put Wood to the line tonight pretty often if he can't control himself.  Wood has hit the over on this number in seven of the last 10 games and one of those games was the Denver matchup where he refused to check back into the contest. We have avoided Wood in tough matchups against the Jazz and 76ers so we are definitely picking our spots and winning when we do. This feels like another one of those spots where we want to get Wood in our plays.

Cole Anthony OVER 5.5 Assists

Cole Anthony and I do not have a good relationship when it comes to PrizePicks this season but I can't let that scare me away when a line just looks too good to pass up and that is what I think we have here tonight with his assist props. Anthony has gone over 5.5 assists in four of the last five and seven of the last nine games. Orlando's rotation is getting healthier with the return of Jalen Suggs and Terrence Ross and we know the struggles the Lakers are having right now on defense. I've checked the sportsbooks and right now we are looking at -140 on the over 5.5 so I just don't see how we aren't getting an edge here with this play.

Fred VanVleet OVER 3.5 Three-Pointers Made

Ah yes, another old faithful finding its way back into our board today. If you remember a few weeks back we were going all in on these FVV three-point props when they were sitting under 4.0 but over the past week or so PrizePicks boosted the number. That said, today we are looking at 3.5 3PM once again and therefore I am jumping back into the pool. VanVleet has hit the over on 3.5 3PM in eight of the last 10 games and over the last 30 games he has hit the other 67% of the time. Now, I know the Wizards have some decent wing defenders here but this is really just a volume play with VanVleet shooting nearly 40% from three-point range on the year while averaging 9.8 three-point attempts per game. For the month of January he is shooting 41.1% from three-point range while averaging 5.3 3PM per game. VanVleet also is ALWAYS on the floor, having played at least 40 minutes in five straight contests.
