Fantasy Baseball Dynasty Rankings: 2024 Strategy & Process

The Top 400 Dynasty Fantasy Baseball Players was calculated through a wide combination of metrics. As is important for all fantasy baseball rankings, you need to look at the larger picture for each player. Obviously, the big picture is paramount for dynasty leagues, which is why you'll see differences between early 2024 redraft rankings.

You need to not only take into account recent performances from the 2023 and even 2022 MLB seasons,  but also player pedigree - especially for the prospects who could be longer-term dynasty keepers. With this in mind, our dynasty baseball rankings take into account the next four years of projected value from a player. Because of this, player age often is the definitive tie breaker between players.

As is the case in any fantasy baseball dynasty leagues, capturing a player's prime is an important factor in winning your league. You need to get value and production not just for one year, but for multiple years - the same as MLB GMs who are trying to keep their franchises competitive year in and year out.

With that being the case, players who are not only stars but also young are the ones you’ll find at the top or near the top of the rankings. Along those lines, the younger the player is, the less that injuries and suspensions weigh in these dynasty rankings. Missing a year or part of a year over a multi-year period matters less in the grand scheme of things in fantasy baseball dynasty leagues.

On the flip side of that, older players dealing with serious injuries will be docked more in these rankings. Not only do they miss the time with the injury, but they also lose time to the undefeated enemy that is nature and time.

Another thing to keep in mind is that these dynasty rankings are based on fantasy baseball values and aren't necessarily based purely on real-world statistics.

Putting up stud-level stats certainly will move a player higher in the rankings. However, variables like position scarcity also are factored into that player's final dynasty ranking.

Let’s say two players have similar skills and abilities to put up similar stat lines. Which do you decide to keep? If one is at a far more scarce position where there are fewer quality fantasy players - catcher is an example - then the player in the scarcer position will end up higher in the rankings.

So while some players might not be the sexiest players in real-life, if they still have value in fantasy, then they need to be considered for your dynasty leagues.
