NBA DFS Playbook - March 13

Truthfully, both point guards in this matchup are in play but Morant is coming off yet another elite performance, dropping 37 points against the Knicks. We could see a blowout tonight which keeps Morant as my cash gameplay but the Thunder are one of the league's best teams against the spread so this could be a bit more competitive than we think.

Young is averaging 50 FP over the last five games and just went for 51 fantasy points the other night. During this five-game stretch Young is averaging a double-double, going for 26.4 points and 11.0 rebounds. This matchup against the Pacers is a favorable one. 

Malcolm Brogdon is still not in the lineup for the Pacers so Haliburton remains on our radar as a core play. Against the Spurs last night he finished with 19 points, 10 assists, two rebounds and three steals for 43.5 fantasy points. He is averaging 43 FP over the last five games. 

The return of Devin Booker has done little to slow down the production of Payne as the Suns guard went for 42 fantasy points against the Raptors and 36 fantasy points against the Heat. I roll him out with confidence tonight against the woeful Los Angeles Lakers.

The Rockets are playing some competitive basketball of late and in turn players such as Kevin Porter Jr. have seen a boost in their production and fantasy value. With the Pelicans still without CJ McCollum and Brandon Ingram this is a matchup to attack.

Speaking of the Pelicans and their guard depth, Graham has moved back into the starting lineup with McCollum and Ingram out and he dropped 40 FP against the Hornets the other night in a game his team lost by 22. Graham should be locked into his minutes and the Rockets still aren't playing great defense even while winning games.

Harden is definitely a bit expensive but after the Sixers were embarrassed by the Nets in their last game I am expecting a big game here in response. Harden has had four double-doubles in six games with the Nets since the trade.

Booker returned to the Suns lineup after a quick stint on the Covid list and has picked up right where he left off, going for 55 and 40 fantasy points. His price on DraftKings should make him one of the more popular plays on the slate given his matchup against the Lakers tonight.

We may see Dillon Brooks return to the lineup tonight for the Grizzlies but I would doubt he plays more than 20-minutes after such a long layoff. That said, his presence moves Bane more into a cash game play than GPP as I don't know if he has the same ceiling. 

One of the driving forces behind the recent success of the Rockets, Green is averaging 35 fantasy points over the last six games while shooting 54% from the floor and 39% from three-point range. If the rookie has figured his game out it should be a fun final weeks to watch.

Gotta love some Monk here tonight as he has seemingly found the form he had put on display earlier this season. Over the last five games Monk is averaging 33 fantasy points while shooting 50% from the floor and 44% from three-point range.

The price tag here just feels disrespectful. Huerter is pretty consistently putting up 25+ fantasy points and while he laid an egg against the Wizards, he gets a matchup tonight against a Pacers team on a back-to-back. Huerter is averaging 27 FP in two games against the Pacers this season, though, this is definitely a different version given the transactions made by Indiana. 

Reaves has been in the starting lineup for the Lakers of late so why not have him in your DFS lineup as a value play? He is averaging 24.8 fantasy points over the last five games while seeing 30 minutes a night of playing time.

No Malcolm Brogdon makes this play a bit more appealing than it normally would as Hield on back-to-backs is generally a play I avoid but because of his recent contributions in both rebounding and assists, I don't mind the play as it gives him a higher floor level of production even when the shot doesn't drop like we want it to.

The return of Booker to the lineup is taking some of the defensive focus off of Bridges and in turn he has scored 18 and 20 points over the last two games. We want to stack this game tonight and the price on Bridges is perfect to get him in those builds.

Going to play nearly 30 minutes a night off the bench for the Hawks and he continues to be a strong fantasy play even as the price tag increases. I like this matchup for him today against the Pacers who are not great defensively and are on a back-to-back. 

Will be popular tonight given the expected playing time with McCollum and Ingram out of the lineup. He is a raw offensive prospect but did drop 32 points against the Hornets the other night in the Pelicans 22 point loss.

Minutes have been there lately for THT and if he is active tonight I don't mind giving him a run as a contrarian game stack play. Over the last two games he has finished with 29 and 30 fantasy points while playing 31 and 30 minutes. The Lakers are really searching for anybody to provide a spark and THT has been that guy at times before.

Willing the Lakers to wins right now. James has gone for 70+ fantasy points in three straight games. I have no reason to think that he won't be taking over the game for the Lakers tonight here once again as he enjoys one of the best overall seasons of his career.

We are big fans of WCJ here at Fantasy Alarm but this matchup is going to be a tough one. For that reason he is a GPP only play because Joel Embiid could easily put him in foul trouble here given the amount of free throws the 76ers center takes per game.

I rarely play a center against the Grizzlies but Roby has done well against talented centers this season and the minutes are going to be there. If game stacking or looking for a low-owned play then Roby should fit. 

Strong GPP play. As long as he stays out of foul trouble he should flirt with a double-double while providing some shot block upside. Getting him at under $6,000 is pretty appealing, especially in today's matchup against the Hawks who run out John Collins and Danilo Gallinari at power forward.

Price tag keeps running up on Crowder but as long as Chris Paul is out of the lineup we've seen everyone else in the Suns lineup step up and be productive. Crowder has scored double-digit points in all but one game since the All-Star break.

John Collins is questionable to play tonight but even when active we have seen Gallinari out play him of late. Over the last five games Gallinari is averaging 22.4 fantasy points and is coming off a 26.5 fantasy point game against the Clippers.

Clarke is a high fantasy point per minute player and if this game gets out of hand or if Jaren Jackson gets into foul trouble he could see a nice minutes boost. 

Speaking of high fantasy point per minute players, take a look at what Wagner has done lately in his limited playing time. Over the last four games, averaging just 19.0 minutes per game he is averaging 28 fantasy points. If Philly blows Orlando out today he could see 20+ like we saw against Memphis when he played 27 minutes and finished with 38 fantasy points.

I don't think much needs to be said here when it comes to Embiid as he is the highest priced player on the slate with an elite matchup. Even in the team's loss against the Nets he still finished with 27 points and 12 rebounds. He has been a machine at the free-throw line both Mo Bamba and Wendell Carter Jr. are no stranger to hacking.

Massive let down by JVal the other night with McCollum and Ingram out of the lineup but I don't mind going back here with there likely being much less rostership here. Contrarian GPP only play.

After missing a few games it looks like Wood will be returning to the Rockets lineup. Before sitting out he was on quite a run, averaging 51 fantasy points over his last three games. Given the matchup and the Rockets recent play I think he makes for a nice option in GPPs.

The Lakers don't have a real center which means Ayton draws LeBron James. We saw Kristaps Porzingis has solid success the other night in this matchup and Ayton will have the same size advantage here as well. A double-double should be a lock.

If he can stay out of foul trouble we've seen Jackson be a very strong fantasy producer. He's finished with at least 26 FP in four of the last five games.

IF John Collins is ruled out I love some Capela today as it should lock him in for a larger share of minutes in a great matchup against a very foul happy Pacers front court.
