A pretty decent 9-game slate is in front of us tonight and for a nice change of pace, there are basically no weather concerns. Temps will be hot which could mean that balls carry further than they ordinarily would but in terms of rain or precipitation there’s nothing of note to report.

Top Tier

Brandon Woodruff, MIL - Woodruff is the top arm on the slate without question tonight. He gets the Mets in New York and frankly it’s a boost to Woodruff to be on the road. The Brewers’ righty has a 1.55 ERA and 0.67 WHIP on the road this year which are both better than his home marks, in more innings as well. The Mets’ offense has been up-and-down of late but in general is striking out at a high clip against righties the last two weeks while being slightly below-average in wOBA and wRC+.

Joe Musgrove, SD - The Nats are riddled with injuries right now to key players like Trea Turner and Kyle Schwarber and the rest of the offense hasn’t been doing much in the way of damage either. Musgrove, despite a poor last outing, has been great over the last 10 starts with a 2.40 ERA and across eight starts at home he’s posted a 2.25 ERA with a better K-rate than on the road at 60 Ks in 48 IP compared to 46 in 41 IP.

Mid-Tier

Rich Hill, TB - Hill hasn’t been the most dependable of late having given up 13 of the 16 runs over his last 10 starts in just the last four. But Cleveland for their part hasn’t been doing well against LHPs recently either with a 25.6-percent K-rate and below-average wOBA and wRC+ marks. While he hasn’t faced Cleveland yet this year, the game being in Tampa should help Hill as he’s been better at Tropicana Field with a .194 BAA and 55 Ks in 43.2 IP and nearly twice the fantasy points per game.

Martin Perez, BOS - Perez likes getting out of the small confines of Fenway and his numbers show it. On the road, he’s posted a 2.10 ERA and 1.02 WHIP and a .214 BAA in six starts. He’s also posted 10 more DK points per game on the road than at home. The Angels have been middle of the road against southpaws over the last few weeks as well which ups his value some.

Value Tier

Vladimir Gutierrez, CIN - He’s a risk to be sure as he’s just not all that well recently but he is facing an offense that’s struggled, and struck out more recently as well. Gutierrez has been better on the road with a 4.27 ERA and fewer homers than he’s been at home and pitching in the cavernas Kauffman Stadium may help him. He’s only for GPP builds tonight.
