Top Tier

Ronald Acuna, OF, ATL – He has been a little quiet with the power with just one home run so far in June, but Acuna makes up for it with five stolen bases since the calendar changed and now has 11 on the season. So, not only is he right there in the league lead for home runs, but double-digit stolen bases are also in play. He is facing Aaron Nola who we all know is a great pitcher, but he has been off his game for the last month. Nola has allowed three earned runs or more in four of his last five starts, and five runs in two of those. He also has allowed at least one home run in four of his last five outings. Acuna has also had some solid success against him with nine hits in 26 career at-bats including two home runs and two doubles with three stolen bases. Acuna has also hit .299 with 13 extra-base hits at Citizens Bank Park and is a great option today.

Matt Olson, 1B, OAK – Please excuse me as I am kind of salivating over the Athletics facing Jon Duplantier today. He has a hit in six straight games including three doubles and two home runs with eight RBI. Eight of Olson’s 15 home runs have come at home, and he hits 18 points higher in batting average against right-handed pitchers. Duplantier probably shouldn’t be pitching in the Majors as he has allowed nine earned runs in just 8.2 innings including four home runs in just two starts. Olson is sporting a .941 OPS, .400 wOBA, and a 39.9% hard hit rate against a pitcher that has struggled to keep the ball in the park in his short Major League experience.

Mid-Tier

Jesse Winker, OF, CIN – He should be in every single one of your lineups today. Winker is ridiculously hot with eight hits in the last four days and four of them left the park. He is now tied for the National League lead in home runs and is hitting .350 on the season. He will face Adrian Houser of Milwaukee who he has had ridiculous success against. Winker has eight hits in 13 at-bats with FIVE home runs of those eight hits. 16 of his 17 home runs have come against right-handed pitching and eight of them have also come at home despite 35 more plate appearances away from Cincinnati this season. Everything is pointing to another big day for Winker.

Jonathan Schoop, 2B, DET – Let’s ride another hot hand, this time in Detroit. Schoop has five multi-hit games in the last eight that he has played including five home runs and ten RBI. On the season he is hitting .302 with an .886 OPS against left-handed pitching as opposed to .242/.689 against righties. He has three of his nine home runs against left-handed pitching despite 117 fewer at-bats against southpaws. He will face lefty Marco Gonzales tonight who has been decent of late but still is sitting on an ERA over 5.00 and has allowed seven home runs in six starts. Schoop has had some mild success against him in his career and should continue his hot streak on Tuesday.

Andrew McCutchen, OF, PHI – He has a six-game hit streak going with three multi-hit games in that span. He also has been bringing the lumber with two doubles and three home runs in the last four games. The Phillies will face Drew Smyly tonight who has allowed five home runs and 13 earned runs in his last three starts combined. With a 5.98 ERA and 1.37 WHIP needless to say that is terrible. McCutchen is doing lefties dirty this season with a .301 average and 1.016 OPS as opposed to .175/.617 against righties. Six of his ten home runs have come against left-handed pitching, and he is homering once every 13.8 at-bats against them as opposed to every 35.5 against right-handed pitching. McCutchen has three hits in seven career at-bats against Smyly and two of them have left the yard. He is certainly someone you will see me targeting today.

Value Tier

Kyle Seager, 3B, SEA – He is never a sexy pick, but Seager can get it done on certain days. He has three multi-hit games in the last eight and has been far better out of Seattle. He is hitting .281 on the road as opposed to an abysmal .150 at home and seven of his 11 home runs have come on the road. Seattle faces the Tigers today and Seager has been solid at Comerica Park with a .286 average and 13 extra base hits in 23 starts there. Matthew Boyd takes the bump, and he is on a cold streak right now as he has allowed 18 earned runs in his last four starts and has only gotten past the fifth inning once. Seager is hitting lefties a little better than righties this season, and in 2019 he hit a very respectable .285 against them. He does have four hits in 11 career at-bats against Boyd and all four went for extra bases with two doubles and two home runs. He isn’t going to help you take down a tournament today but should provide solid return on an inexpensive price.

Ryan Mountcastle, 1B/OF, BAL – With four multi-hit games in the last five, Mountcastle is one of the hotter hitters in baseball right now. He has also collected three doubles and four home runs since May 31st. He has been straight lethal at Camden Yards this year with a .321 average and .933 OPS including seven of his eight home runs. Away from home he is hitting .170 with a .480 OPS. He faces David Peterson and his near 6.00 ERA today after he recorded just a single out in his last start when he allowed five runs. In fact, he has allowed three runs or more in four of his last five and four home runs in his last four starts. Mountcastle is also destroying left-handed pitching to the tune of a .351 average and .962 OPS as opposed to a .214 average and .679 OPS. He is going to save you a bundle at first or in the outfield today to help you get some great players elsewhere.
