Yahoo MLB DFS Heart of the Order May 4: Lucas Giolito Against the Cubs
Published: May 04, 2022
The Major League Baseball main slate for Yahoo DFS on Wednesday, May 4 has seven games. There are some bad pitchers on the slate so paying up for at least one is ideal. A Cy Young award contender gets a team that has struck out 39 times in the last three games. One of the bats has been hitting the ball really hard and homered in two of the last three games. Another has three home runs in the last seven games and gets a pitcher allowing 1.84 HR/9 to right-handed batters. Good luck on tonight's MLB DFS main slate!

Pirates re-signed INF/OF Nick Solak to a minor league contract.
Solak returns to Pittsburgh’s organization after a quick stint with the club back in late May where he went 1-for-11 across four games. The 30-year-old will remain stationed at Triple-A Indianapolis to wait for another chance in the big leagues.
Blue Jays sent RHP Michael Stefanic outright to Triple-A Buffalo.
Stefanic was up with Toronto for a couple weeks while Andrés Giménez was on the injured list. The 29-year-old infielder hit .182 (4-for-22) across nine games.
Cubs sent RHP Brooks Kriske outright to Triple-A Iowa.
Kriske passed through waivers after being designated for assignment earlier this week. The 31-year-old made only one relief appearance, tossing a pair of scoreless innings, before being removed from Chicago’s roster. He’ll presumably stick around as extra organizational relief depth.
Dodgers sent C Chuckie Robinson outright to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Robinson unsurprisingly cleared waivers after being removed earlier this week from Los Angeles’ 40-man roster. The 30-year-old backstop hasn’t made an appearance in the big leagues this season. He’ll stick around with the Dodgers as emergency catching depth.
Stone Garrett has signed a contract with the Kiwoom Heroes of the Korea Baseball Organization.
Garrett takes his talent overseas a couple weeks after being released by the Nationals. The 29-year-old outfielder played in just two games last season in the big leagues after suffering a significant leg injury during the 2023 campaign.
Sean Manaea (oblique) surrendered four runs over 1 2/3 innings on Friday in a minor league rehab start for High-A Brooklyn.
Setting aside the results from a performance standpoint, Manaea built up his workload to 36 pitches (26 strikes) in his rehab debut. He notched two strikeouts and didn’t hand out a free pass. The 33-year-old southpaw figures to make an impact for fantasy managers over the final few months of the year once he makes it back to New York’s rotation. He’ll need a couple of additional tune-up outings, but appears on track to make his season debut by early July.
