There are a couple of things to note here. The ATL-STL contest on DraftKings is only seven innings, and you don’t get the luxury of Coors Field on DraftKings, whereas you do on FanDuel. So, keep that in mind! Also, there could be some weather in play, so keep an eye out for that. I still can’t believe the prices of some guys on this slate, namely one Pittsburgh hitter, and there’s a few bats I absolutely love today. Without further ado, grab your coffee and let’s head into the Value Vault for today’s main slate!
Both Sites
Tony Kemp, 2B/OF OAK ($2,200 FD/$2,700 DK) - Jordan Montgomery at home isn’t typically something to attack, as he’s been decent there, but Oakland is putting up some runs and Kemp has been a catalyst for it all series! Not only has Kemp homered twice in this series, as well as scored two runs and drove in four runs, for the month of June as a whole, he’s hitting .306 with an awesome 1.029 OPS! Also, 10 walks, leading to a .417 on-base percentage! Kemp has hit safely in five straight games and scored at least one run in seven straight! UPDATE: Kemp is not starting for Oakland today. You can pivot to Jed Lowrie on FanDuel ($2,900) or Luis Arraez on DraftKings ($3,000).
Bryan Reynolds, OF PIT ($3,100 FD/$3,100 DK) - I mean, if FanDuel and DraftKings want to continue letting us rack up points from Reynolds at a not very expensive price, I won’t complain! Reynolds is hitting .347 on the year against southpaws, and Hentges has been abused by opposing righties, to the tune of a .374 average and OPS north 1.000! In these two games against Cleveland, Reynolds has posted 21 and 19 points on DraftKings, and he’s reached double-digits in three straight. He’s hitting .345 in the month of June with a 1.079 OPS and he’s notched two hits in four straight games.
FanDuel
Joc Pederson, OF CHC ($2,900) - We’ve only seen a handful of innings from Miami’s Zach Thompson, but lefties have had the early success against him, posting a .402 wOBA. Pederson has 11 home runs and a .352 wOBA against righties in 2021. The veteran slugger has posted a .922 OPS in the month of June and has seven home runs in just 58 at-bats (8.3 AB/HR)! Pederson has hit safely in eight of his last 10 games, with five home runs coming in that span.
Matt Chapman, 3B OAK ($3,000) - A second Oakland Athletic makes it into the Value Vault today! Jordan Montgomery has been better at home than on the road this year, so I’ll give him that, but I’ll still trust righties and their .775 OPS against him for the year. Chapman is hitting .288 this month with an .861 OPS, and he’s riding a nice eight-game hit streak! He has a .777 OPS against southpaws in 2021.
Garrett Hampson, 2B/OF COL ($3,400) - Hampson has a .910 OPS at home versus a .555 road OPS. He has a 1.089 OPS versus lefties, compared to a .593 OPS versus righties. At home versus a southpaw in 2021, Hampson has a 1.318 OPS! Today, Hampson is at home against Eric Lauer (a lefty), who has struggled against righties this year! If you need to save $100, you can pivot to Brendan Rodgers, who has also punished southpaws. UPDATE: Hampson isn’t starting. Pivot to Rodgers.
DraftKings
Austin Hays, OF BAL ($3,200) - Ryu has been worse on the road this year (3.68 ERA) compared to at home (3.09 ERA), and righties have had more success (.748 OPS) compared to left-handed hitters (.497). Ryu has allowed five home runs across his last three starts and has struggled missing bats (7:8 K/BB ratio) in his most recent appearances. Hays has hit .314 against southpaws this year and he has 14 or more DraftKings points in two of his past three games. It’s been an abysmal month of June thus far for Hays, but he’s hit safely in three of his last four, hitting .308 (4-for-13) in that span. He can only be played in GPPs today.
Tyler O’Neill, OF STL ($3,100) - It’s only a seven-inning game, so keep that in mind, but when a righty is on the mound, you can’t ignore Tyler O’Neill. Again, playing guys in shorter games can be a death sentence, since at-bats are limited, but if you expect many will zig from this game, you could zag to this game. Atlanta’s Bryse Wilson has served up a .348 batting average to opposing right-handed hitters, and O’Neill is hitting .291 with 14 home runs (10.6 AB/HR) against righties. Be mindful of the game length, but there could be fireworks here.
Player News
Pirates SS/OF prospect Konnor Griffin went 3-for-5 with an inside-the-park home run, three RBI and one stolen base on Saturday for Low-A Bradenton.
Griffin’s phenomenal professional debut continued Saturday when he legged out an inside-the-park home run as part of his 21st multi-hit performance of the season. The 19-year-old phenom is slashing .338/.398/.536 with nine round-trippers and 26 steals across 50 games for Low-A Bradenton. He leads the entire Florida State League with 70 hits and ranks second in home runs, trailing only Phillies breakout prospect Aroon Escobar in the power department. Based on his current trajectory, Griffin is likely to finish the year as a top-five caliber prospect for dynasty purposes.
Ronny Mauricio went 2-for-4 with a solo homer, stolen base and two runs scored in a win for the Mets on Saturday over the Rockies.
Mauricio gets the combo meal in a blowout win over the lowly Rockies. Still counts. The 24-year-old has his first homer of the 2025 campaign, and the steal is also his first after being recalled from Syracuse on Tuesday. Mauricio is still young enough to live up to the lofty expectations he once had, but fantasy managers shouldn’t be rushing to add the infielder just yet.
Francisco Lindor went 3-for-5 and stole two bases while helping the Mets to an 8-1 win over the Rockies on Saturday.
Lindor’s first game back in the starting lineup was a successful one. The fractured pinkie toe clearly wasn’t bugging him too much, as he swiped a pair of bags to bring his total to 13 in 2025. Lindor may get some maintenance days to prevent aggravation, but it doesn’t appear that this injury will slow him down. Literally and figuratively.
Germán Márquez allowed four runs over five innings to take a loss to the Mets on Saturday.
Márquez is now 2-8 on the season and has an ERA of exactly 7.00. He’s not a good pitcher, and he pitches for the worst team in baseball. Atlanta gets the pleasure of facing him next weekend.
Clay Holmes gave up one run over six innings to get a win over the Rockies on Saturday.
Holmes gave up nine hits, but the only run he allowed came on a solo homer off the bat of Ryan McMahon. The 32-year-old didn’t issue a free pass, and he struck out six in another successful outing. Holmes now has an ERA of 2.95 on the season, and you cannot say the conversion to starter has been anything but a success. He gets the Rays next weekend.
Colton Cowser clobbered a solo homer while going 2-for-5 in a 7-4 win for the Orioles over the Athletics on Saturday.
