Well, when you have guys like Gerrit Cole, Max Scherzer and Zack Wheeler on the mound, the first thing that comes to mind is: “I hope there are some value bats!” Don’t worry, there always are! There’s an arm I love for your second starter on DraftKings today, and there’s plenty of mispriced bats on FanDuel of which you must take advantage! Without further ado, grab your coffee and let’s jump into today’s Value Vault!

Both Sites

Hanser Alberto, 2B/3B/SS KC ($2,100 FD/$3,200 DK) - Alberto is dirt cheap on FanDuel, and affordable on DraftKings. Texas’ Jordan Lyles has allowed righties to hit .296 with a wOBA north of .400 this year, and Alberto is sporting a quality .290 average against righties. Alberto is hitting .306 in the month of June, and his hard contact rate of 32.4 percent is about two percentage points higher than the month before. I love this matchup today against Lyles. UPDATE: Alberto isn’t starting. Kansas City right-handers are still in play.

Bryan Reynolds, OF PIT ($3,000 FD/$3,300 DK) - Until he’s priced higher, it’s hard not to put him in your lineups. He’s rocking an eleven game hit streak, in which he has eight games with at least two hits! During this hot stretch, he’s homered three times, and the hot bats of Adam Frazier and Ke’Bryan Hayes in front of him have helped pad his RBI total to 11 in this stretch. This should continue today, as St. Louis’ Johan Oviedo has some gnarly splits, with lefties hitting nearly 100 points higher than righties.

FanDuel

Luke Voit, 1B NYY ($2,600) - This is purely a BvP play and picking against southpaw that has struggled this year. Boston’s Eduardo Rodriguez has allowed righties to hit .308 and post a .368 wOBA this season, and since returning from injury, Voit has nine or more FanDuel points in three of his six games, also hitting safely in all but one of them, including two home runs. Rodriguez has allowed at least three earned runs in eight straight starts, and in just his most recent starts at home, he’s allowed six and four earned runs in 4.2 and six innings respectively.

Jonathan India, 2B/3B CIN ($3,100) - To be honest, when I started looking for the day, India is a guy I wanted to be able to include in here, but I figured he’d be too expensive. Then, when I saw he was only a hair over three grand, I was ecstatic. He’s just a hair over three thousand dollars, despite putting up at least six FanDuel points in seven straight games, including four of which he’s eclipsed 15 points! He has four multi-hit efforts in his last seven games, and he’s hit southpaws at a .347 clip this season. Atlanta’s Kyle Muller’s .334 wOBA to righties is far worse than his .221 wOBA to left-handed hitters.

CJ Cron, 1B COL ($3,200) - Cron at home (.299 average) versus Cron on the road (.213 average) is the better play, but when a lefty is on the mound, all of that goes out the window. Cron is hitting .355 off southpaws with an insane 1.057 OPS! Milwaukee’s Eric Lauer has been abused by right-handed hitters, and I expect that to happen. I also love Trevor Story if you have the money to make that happen today.

Amed Rosario, SS/OF CLE ($2,600) - Amed Rosario is 7-for-12 with one home run against Minnesota’s J.A. Happ for his career, so these two are no stranger to one another. Righties have an OPS near .910 against him, and Rosario has hit southpaws at a .274 clip this season. In June alone, Rosario is hitting .289 with a .707 OPS, and a matchup against a familiar foe is a perfect way to break out of this rut he’s been mired in.

DraftKings

Reese McGuire, C TOR ($3,400) - Until his price increases further, he’s a plug and play for me. He’s locked into one of the league’s most potent offenses, and he’s crushing righties, to the tune of a .338 average. McGuire has hit safely in five of his last six games, and while his upside is capped a bit, he’s shown that he can put points on the board, registering at least 10 DraftKings points in four of his last 12 games. If you have the money  to spend, you can look at Cincy’s Tyler Stephenson as well.

Sandy Alcantara, SP MIA ($8,600) - I was shocked to see Alcantara as the eighth-highest priced starter on the board, especially being priced behind Patrick Sandoval and Ryan Yarbrough. He’s posted four straight quality starts and has 20 or more DraftKings points in five of his last seven starts. In the month of June, the Nationals have the seventh-highest strikeout rate against right-handed pitchers and are hitting just .249. I like the value here with the Miami right-hander.
