14 games, no problem! There’s plenty of value on the slate and if you don’t want to spend up for a stud pitcher, there’s a lot of mid-priced guys that are in decent spots today. There’s one in my eye in particular that I’ll most certainly be using as my SP2 today. Keep reading to figure out who that is! Otherwise, plenty of value on the slate with the bats, so let’s start the weekend off right! Let’s dive into today’s Value Vault!

Both Sites

Brian Goodwin, OF CWS ($3,000 FD/$3,300 DK) - Goodwin is coming off a big game, and over the last week, he’s hitting .273 with a .976 OPS. Goodwin has struggled against lefties, but he’s demolished righties, posting a .342 average and 1.193 OPS in 38 at-bats. Detroit’s Casey Mize has been good this year, but his 3.98 ERA is worse than his 3.18 road ERA, and opponents have hit Mize at a .252 clip at home. This is more of an endorsement of Goodwin, and his ability to destroy right-handed pitching.

Miguel Rojas, SS MIA ($2,600 FD/$3,200 DK) - Against southpaws this year, Rojas is hitting .355 with a .428 wOBA. Rojas has cooled off a bit of late, but he’s 4-for-14 against the Braves last year, and he’s hit safely in five of his last six contests. I like Starling Marte a lot in this game, too, if you have the financial flexibility.

FanDuel

Adam Frazier, 2B/OF ($2,900) - Frazier is 4-for-13 in his career off Milwaukee’s Adrian Houser and against righties in particular, Frazier has a .333 batting average and .369 wOBA! Houser’s numbers are worse against lefties, allowing them to post a .287 clip against him, and Frazier loves his home park, hitting .333 there on the season. If you have a couple hundred dollars laying around, you can bump up to Bryan Reynolds in this matchup.

Cavan Biggio, 2B/3B TOR ($2,800) - It was a slow, slow, slow start for Biggio, but he turned it up in the month of June, hitting three home runs and striking out just 12 times across 56 at-bats, all while hitting .304 with a .965 OPS. In his last 17 at-bats, he has five hits and four RBI, and gets to face a right-hander today. He has a .765 OPS against righties this year, and I expect Toronto to put some runs on the board today, with Biggio being a key cog in the whole operation.

Myles Straw, OF HOU ($2,700) - Straw is hitting .316 with an .827 OPS over the past week and his numbers on the road are far better than at home. His .221 average and .599 OPS pale in comparison to his .320 average and .770 OPS on the road. Cleveland southpaw Sam Hentges has struggled with righties this year, to the tune of a .357 average and .433 wOBA. Abraham Toro is also in play, especially if he’s hitting second.

DraftKings

Reese McGuire, C TOR ($3,100) - Like I mentioned earlier, Toronto will score some runs today. Fill your catcher spot on DraftKings with the Toronto backstop who hit .344 in the month of June with an .876 OPS. He’s hit safely in seven of his last 10 games, including four games with multiple hits, and two games with three or more! McGuire has hit righties at a .338 clip this year with an .840 OPS, and simply put, he’s too cheap today.

Logan Gilbert, SP SEA ($6,600) - The young righty had a rough May, but he was excellent in June, posting a 23:5 K/BB ratio across 19.1 innings of work with a 2.79 ERA. Over his two home starts, he’s struck out 11 batters across 9.2 innings of work, and while has allowed six earned runs in that span, I’m buying into the other metrics. The Rangers can pack a punch, but in terms of batting average, they are below league average, and they are slightly above league average in terms of strikeout rate. At his price on DraftKings, I’ll take a gamble on Gilbert as my SP2.

David Fletcher, 2B/SS ($3,200) - Fletcher hit .344 in the month of June with a .797 OPS and he now gets to face Baltimore southpaw Keegan Akin is 0-4 with a 7.11 ERA on the season. Akin has served up a .280 average and .347 wOBA to right-handed hitters, and Fletcher has hit southpaws at a .345 clip this season. Akin’s numbers are worse against lefties, so he displays some reverse splits, but righties are in a great spot, too.
