We have ourselves a 10-game slate this afternoon and lineup construction is going to be fun for this slate. There aren’t any pitchers that are super expensive, and on FanDuel no pitcher is more than $10,000, and just three broke through the $9,000 threshold! With some big name hitters in great matchups, looking at you Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bryce Harper, you might need additional value bats, and maybe even an arm to round out your lineup. Don’t worry, I got you!

Keep on reading to find some high-upside value bats, and one arm, at a bargain on your preferred site for today’s main slate! Without further ado, let’s jump in the Value Vault for today’s main slate!

All Sites

Jorge Soler, OF ATL ($3,300 FD/$3,400 DK/$15 Yahoo) - Soler has an .836 OPS with seven home runs in just 87 at-bats against southpaws this year! He’s seeing the ball well of late, hitting .409 with a 1.458 OPS over his last 22 at-bats, and in his lone game with Atlanta, he went 3-for-4! I love Soler today against Brett Anderson and his 4.50 road ERA and lack of strikeouts. You want to be a guy that can miss bats, but even more so when Soler is at the dish, because when his bat makes contact with the ball, there’s a good chance it goes a very long way.

Tyler Naquin, OF CIN ($2,700 FD/$2,700 DK/$7 Yahoo) - Naquin has been a consistent play of mine against righties and while Marcus Stroman has been good, I believe you can still slide Naquin into your lineups. Stroman has allowed a .258 batting average against him at home, which is higher than the .220 mark he’s allowed on the road. Naquin hasn’t homered in a bit, but he’s homering every 21.75 at-bats versus righties, and he’s hitting .333 against Mets pitching this year. He’s risky, and I’ll admit that, so he can only be used in GPPs.

Yahoo!

Yoan Moncada, 3B CWS ($12) - Moncada is 3-for-7 off Cal Quantrill and he’s hit .264 with a .358 wOBA against righties this year. At home this year, Moncada’s .300 average and .886 OPS far exceed his .226 average and .677 OPS on the road this year, and eight of his nine homers on the year have come against righties. Additionally, all nine of his home runs have come at home this year! Moncada is a cash game play for me today.

Randal Grichuk, OF TOR ($11) - It’s been a trying July for Grichuk, and he’s hitting just .225 over his last 40 at-bats, so a familiar foe is just what the doctor ordered. He’s 3-for-7 with a home run against Kansas City’s Brad Keller, and right-handed hitters have posted a .299 average and .360 wOBA versus Keller in 2021. In 11 road starts this year, Keller has a 4.92 ERA and .305 BAA and while he has been better of late, this Toronto offense is a different beast.

DraftKings

Kyle Farmer, SS CIN ($3,300) - Farmer’s lone hit against Marcus Stroman was a home run, but he is hitting .280 with a .337 wOBA on the road this year. It’s not the best matchup, but Farmer is red hot, and while his splits favor matchups against southpaws, the Cincinnati shortstop is hitting .395 in the month of July and has a 1.250 OPS over his last 52 at-bats. Trust the hot bat here.

Jordan Montgomery, SP NYY ($7,400) - Montgomery has a .293 ERA through the month of July was 30 strikeouts across 27.2 innings of work. Over the last two weeks, the Marlins have the fourth-lowest wRC+ and third-highest strikeout rate against southpaws. Miami is struggling against lefties and Montgomery is pitching well himself, and on DraftKings, he’s entirely too cheap

FanDuel

Josh Bell, 1B WAS ($3,300) - There’s not much left in the Washington lineup, but with a righty on the bump, Bell is firmly in play. He’s hitting .251 with a HR every 22.3 at-bats versus righties this year, and Chicago’s Adbert Alzolay has allowed a .275 average and .422 wOBA to left-handed hitters. Lefties are his kryptonite! Bell and Alzolay have met six times, and Bell has won those battles, going 4-for-6 with two home runs! Bell has a .797 OPS at home this year, and he’s hitting .287 with an .885 OPS over the course of 87 July at-bats.

Wilson Contreras, C CHC ($2,900) - Prior to the 2021 season, it seemed like Contreras was the sure thing to get traded from the Cubs, but in the end, he’s the one that stayed! He’s 2-for-3 with two home runs against Washington’s Erick Fedde, and while Contreras may be hitting just .229 over the last two weeks, he’s homered four times and has a quality .869 OPS. UPDATE: Contreras is not starting. If you still want a piece of the Cubs’ lineup, look at Patrick Wisdom.
