Fantasy Alarm is taking a different approach to help our subscribers build successful DFS lineups.  I will be giving you my personal core plays for this weekend's tournament.  These players listed below are my three favorite top tier, middle tier and value tier players for both DraftKings and Fanduel.  They will be at the core of all my lineups for this weekend's Open Championship and then I'll use my playbook to fill out the remaining spots in my lineup.

Make sure you read my full PGA DFS Playbook for the Open Championship before using these core plays.  You can also take a look at my Weekly Tournament Projections at any time.

The first thing you need to remind yourself is that this tournament is taking place in England which means lineups will lock at midnight on July 15th.  Typically PGA DFS lineups lock between 6-9am ET on Thursdays but you’ve got to get those lineups set early.

We’ve got another major championship played on a very difficult course, which means you’ll see surprising names miss the cut this weekend.  Just brace for impact come Friday afternoon when we know who will head into the weekend.

My lineups will likely be constructed on one top tier talent like a Rory McIlory or Brooks Koepka followed by a few mid-tier values and likely one player from the sub-7K range. The talent level is so good in the 9K range, I don’t mind starting there and building a really nice balanced lineup. If you start with a combo of Justin Thomas and Patrick Cantlay, you would not even have to dip into the 6K range. That is something I’m very excited about this weekend.

The last piece of advice that I’ll give and I haven’t said it in a while but it is vital important especially if you are going to mass multi-entry any of these big tournaments. Do not zero out those lineups. You put yourself so far behind the eight ball by doing that.  You cannot be afraid to leave anywhere from $200 to $800 on the table.  Everyone and their mother are going to spend all of their money, change it up and give yourself a better chance at having a unique lineup.

This new format of core plays I think is way more valuable to our subscribers because it lends more to teaching than just copy and pasting.  A set of these players will be in each one of my lineups this weekend and then a mix of players from my playbook will fill out the rest.

If you have any more questions, you can leave them in the chat or hit me up on twitter @Drew_Phelps83.  Good Luck!
