A very intriguing slate with very different price points between the two sites may create a wild slate in DFS for Wednesday night. With 11 games on the main slate, identifying targets in each price range proved difficult so take the information presented, add it to your research and our playbook then run the lineups creator to formulate the best possible lineup. Best of luck tonight!

Top Tier

Shohei Ohtani, Los Angeles Angels ($9,700 on DraftKings, $10,700 on FanDuel)

Two time defending American League player of the month takes the mound in Texas as a -170 favorite opposed by Kolby Allard. Ohtani's actually producing fewer strikeouts of late with 17 over his last 20 innings but only issued one walk in his last three starts fueling a 1.35 ERA and two wins in them. His opponent owns a 24.5 strikeout rate against right-handed pitching and he possesses a robust 39.1 strikeout rate against players presently on the roster. On the season, Ohtani's 5-1 with a 3.04 ERA and if the command gains continue, he's in line for a strong outing in a ballpark which depresses power.

Jameson Taillon, New York Yankees ($10,200 on DraftKings, $8,000 on FanDuel)

Example number one of the varying price points on the two sites. Taillon's a massive -270 favorite at home against the Orioles after racking up a 4-0 record in July with a 1.16 ERA in 31 innings with 25 strikeouts. Facing off with Matt Harvey, also pitching well of late but with migration to the mean pending, may add up to a Yankees sweep and another Taillon victory. There's some risk here, and I prefer the return on investment on FanDuel. If looking for a pivot on DraftKings in tournament play, Max Scherzer's at $9,100 facing a tough Astros lineup but he's a big game pitcher who usually steps up in big moments.

Mid Tier

Jon Gray, Colorado ($7,200 on DraftKings, $8,400 on FanDuel)

Usually hitters take center stage when the Rockies play in Coors but Gray's 5-2 in home starts this year with a 3.14 ERA and seven quality starts over 10 contests. He's also pitching well since returning from the injured list on June 25th with a 3-0 mark his last 41.1 innings with a 2.61 ERA with a 26.8 strikeout rate and 1.11 WHIP. Many will avoid Gray on this slate making him an intriguing low owned dart in GPP's as a second pitcher with upside or on FanDuel at his price point.

Carlos Carrasco, New York Mets ($8,500 on DraftKings, $8,200 on FanDuel)

When responding to a reporter regarding a possible pitch count, Carrasco said he will go out there and pitch until they tell me to stop. It's simple, the Mets need a win with their lead dwindling in the National League East, so this looms as a must win contest in an effort to split their four-game series. He logged four innings during his first start this season giving up three hits, an earned run and a walk with four strikeouts. Miami boasts a 25 strikeout rate against right-handed pitchers with a wRC+ of 90 putting Carrasco in an advantageous position. IF, he reaches six innings due to a manageable pitch count, he could garner precious bonus points for a quality start and they will empty the clip in the bullpen ensuring a win. Stay tuned but it's still a risky venture if he's not efficient in the early innings.

Bargain Arms

Carlos Hernández, Kansas City ($5,600 on DraftKings, $6,100 on FanDuel)

Not for the faint of heart, but Hernandez could rack up some strikeouts and score points in DFS with his high octane fastball. He will need to mitigate damage from home runs against the White Sox but if going against the grain, he's recorded a 26.9 strikeout percentage his last 16.1 innings with a 4.17 SIERA and 1.16 WHIP in them. Tournament play only.

Paolo Espino, Washington ($6,300 on DraftKings, $6,100 on FanDuel)

Once again, it gets a bit dicey in the lower price ranges but Espino has notched 24, 24 and 37 points in his last three starts on FanDuel, this represents potential for a floor of four times value if loading up on high priced bats on tonight's slate. He also could be a low owned second pitcher in tournaments on DraftKings. He's 1-0 his last 21.1 innings with 18 strikeouts against five walks and gets the Phillies who carry a 25.1 strikeout percentage against left-handed pitching with a .172 isolated power.
