Quick Pitch MLB DFS Podcast: Braves & Rockies Take On Coors Field & Favorite DFS Pitchers

Published: Jun 02, 2022
We have six games on tonight's MLB DFS main slate for DraftKings starting at 7:05 PM ET and we have eight games on the MLB DFS main slate over on FanDuel starting at 6:40 PM ET. Both slates however could be cut short due to some potential weather issues in New York and Baltimore. For updates there, be sure to keep tabs on our MLB Weather Center to find out more as we approach roster lock. Another great tool as we get teams posting their lineups is our MLB Lineups page to find out who's in and who's not. Our MLB DFS Player Projections, powered by FanJections, are set for today's slate and on these days, we find using the Fantasy Baseball Lineup Generator to be a great tool to help build different types of roster construction. The top MLB DFS stack for today is going to center around the Atlanta Braves who travel into Colorado to face the Rockies. The Rockies are sending southpaw Austin Gomber to the mound while the Braves counter with Ian Anderson.

AJ Smith-Shawver underwent Tommy John surgery Monday in Texas.
This was always the expectation, but now it’s official. Smith-Shawver might be able to return down the stretch next season, but his rehab would have to go swimmingly.
Guardians activated OF Lane Thomas from the 10-day injured list.
Will Wilson was demoted. The Guardians are bringing Thomas back from his quick two-week absence due to plantar fasciitis without first sending him on a rehab assignment. His last stay on the roster saw him go 0-for-14 over four games. Before that, he spent a month on the IL with a wrist injury. He’s hit just .186/.242/.325 in 70 games overall since the Guardians acquired him the Nationals last summer, and while the team might give him another chance to play regularly in center field, he’s probably only going to prove useful against lefties.
Guardians optioned INF Will Wilson to Triple-A Columbus.
Wilson had started five of the Guardians’ last six games, so this is something of a surprise. Still, he was hitting just .176/.263/.235 over 59 plate appearances. Wilson’s departure, combined with Lane Thomas’s return, suggests that Angel MartÃnez, who has mostly played center of late, will start seeing more middle infield time.
Mets selected the contract of RHP Justin Garza from Triple-A Syracuse.
He’ll join the bullpen. Garza was just picked up from the Giants after posting a 6.11 ERA in 17 2/3 innings for Triple-A Sacramento this season. The 31-year-old has a 5.74 ERA major league ERA from his 21 appearances with the Guardians in 2021 and 17 appearances with the Red Sox in 2023.
Mets optioned LHP Brandon Waddell to Triple-A Syracuse.
Waddell has made four relief appearances during three stints with the Mets and has a 3.38 ERA and a 7/2 K/BB in 10 2/3 innings this season.
Mariners sent RHP Casey Lawrence outright to Triple-A Tacoma.
Lawrence can become a free agent or return to Tacoma. He was DFA’d on Saturday without ever pitching during his latest stint with the Mariners.
