Quick Pitch MLB DFS Podcast: Luis Severino Top Pitching Play & Phillies Stack Against Patrick Corbin

Published: Jun 16, 2022
We have just five games on tonight's MLB DFS main slate but we are lucky to have a pretty clear direction with how we want to attack our roster construction this evening. Be sure to keep tabs on our MLB Weather Center to find out more as we approach roster lock. Another great tool as we get teams posting their lineups is our MLB Lineups page to find out who's in and who's not. Our MLB DFS Player Projections, powered by FanJections, are set for today's slate and on these days, we find using the Fantasy Baseball Lineup Generator to be a great tool to help build different types of roster construction.

Shohei Ohtani will throw a live bullpen session Monday in San Diego.
This was originally scheduled for the weekend, but because of the potential for inclement weather in St. Louis, the two-way star will instead face hitters before Monday’s game against the Padres. Ohtani remains without a timetable to return to the mound, but it’s getting closer, and that’s exciting.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters that Anthony Volpe is receiving treatment for swelling in his left elbow.
Volpe is absent from the lineup as expected, but Boone did say that they’re hopeful that the 24-year-old can return Sunday against the Red Sox. The Yankees won’t rush him back, but it does appear that the shortstop has avoided a significant injury. Consider Volpe day-to-day.
Corbin Carroll is not in the starting lineup for Saturday’s game against the Reds .
Carroll gets back-to-back games off even with a right-hander on the mound for the Reds in Seth Martinez. The 24-year-old has been scuffling a bit lately, but it’s still surprising to see him out of the lineup on back-to-back days. Randal Grichuk is starting in Carroll’s absence.
Josh Naylor (shoulder) is back in the lineup for Saturday’s contest against the Reds.
Naylor is at DH and batting cleanup after sitting out Friday’s game with shoulder soreness.
Gabriel Moreno (hand) is not in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Reds.
It’ll be Jose Herrera handling the catching duties after Moreno suffered a right hand contusion during Friday’s suspended game against the Reds. He’s day-to-day for now after X-rays came back negative for any fractures.
Diamondbacks selected the contract of C Aramis Garcia from Triple-A Reno.
Garcia heads to the big leagues for Saturday’s regularly scheduled contest against the Reds with Gabriel Moreno dealing with a minor right hand injury.
