MLB DFS Value Vault June 27: Kris Bubic in a Groove

That is the goal here, so let’s stay up to date on the latest MLB news, MLB lineups, and MLB weather throughout the day while building those profitable lineups. Let’s dig into some MLB DFS value options for DraftKings, FanDuel, and Yahoo to help you do just that.
DFS Value Pitchers
Kris Bubic (KC); DraftKings - $6,100; FanDuel - $6,300; Yahoo - $27
Yes, I am aware that Bubic’s ERA is currently sitting at 7.41 on the season and it’s unavoidable to miss that, but all of his advanced metrics make him look better and better all the way down to his 4.62 xFIP. Instead, I prefer to look at Bubic’s 3.92 ERA in 20.2 innings so far in June as that paints an increasingly favorable picture and the left-hander has a solid matchup against Texas tonight. Bubic has only allowed one home run in that stretch while striking out 21 batters and providing upside in that department.
Noah Syndergaard (LAA); DraftKings - $6,900; FanDuel - $7,500; Yahoo - $34
After what we saw from Syndergaard in his peak days with the Mets, it’s simply insane to see him priced at this level. While it is fair based on what we have seen from him as of late, we are also getting Syndergaard at a good price that allows for some value. The crazy thing though, is that Syndergaard simply isn’t striking out batters this year with just six per nine innings. Syndergaard is limiting the walks, 2.31 per nine innings, and has a solid 3.86 ERA, but unless he starts to pick up the pace with the strikeouts, we will continue to see him here. At 94.2 miles per hour, the velocity on Syndergaard’s fastball is in line with last season, but it comes at a substantial drop of about three miles per hour compared to what we previously saw from him.
DFS Value Hitters
Edward Olivares, OF (KC); DraftKings - $3,300; FanDuel - $2,300; Yahoo - $9
Olivares previously had success before heading to the Injured List and he has seemingly picked up where he left off with hits in two of three games. Through 48 plate appearances on the season, Olivares is hitting .356 with two home runs, six RBI, and seven runs scored after hitting 20 home runs between Triple-A and the major leagues last season. MartÃn Pérez continues to have success this season, but Olivares does have the platoon advantage here.
Franmil Reyes, OF (CLE); DraftKings - $2,600; FanDuel - $2,400; Yahoo - $11
After going deep in his return earlier in the week, Reyes went the next four games without a home run but he is working on a five-game hit streak. While it is a modest step as a small sample size in what has been a rough year for Reyes, it is also a step in the right direction as he looks to find his footing before it becomes a truly lost season. Reyes is hitting just .209 overall with a 40.4% strikeout rate but with a 15.3% barrel-rate, 55.3% hard-hit rate, and 94.6 mile per hour average exit velocity, the results should come.
César Hernández, 2B (WAS); DraftKings - $3,600; FanDuel - $2,500, Yahoo - $12
We don’t know who is going to start for Pittsburgh tonight, and it likely will be ugly and pieced together, which means Washington’s bats are attractive as a stacking option. Hernandez bats atop the order for the Nationals, so anything that happens should start with him. The second baseman is hitting a solid .263 but the most important thing is his 40 runs scored while driving in 18 runs.
Garrett Cooper, 1B (MIA); DraftKings - $3,000; FanDuel - $2,800; Yahoo - $17
With just five home runs on the season Cooper doesn’t offer up a ton of upside there, especially compared to other first baseman, but with 35 RBI and a .307 batting average he provides a nice cost savings opportunity. Cooper continues to hit in the middle of the lineup for Miami which puts in a prime position to produce, and if you bypass lack of power, everything else (most importantly the price) is good here.

Rangers optioned RHP Codi Heuer to Triple-A Round Rock.
Heuer returns to the minors with Kumar Rocker coming off the injured list to start Wednesday’s showdown against the Rays at Steinbrenner Field. The 28-year-old righty was only with the Rangers for a couple days this week and didn’t end up getting into a game. He hasn’t officially pitched in the big leagues since back in 2021.
Rangers re-signed C Tucker Barnhart to a minor league contract.
Barnhart is back in the fold with the Rangers as emergency catching depth at Triple-A Round Rock after electing free agency earlier this week. The 34-year-old journeyman passed through waivers unclaimed after being removed from the club’s active roster over the weekend.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters that the team still hasn’t made a decision on the next steps for Giancarlo Stanton (elbows).
Boone suggested that the team will have an update on that next step in the next 24 hours. The 35-year-old has missed all of 2025 with injuries to both of his elbows, and the hope is that he will have a chance to help the Yankees — and fantasy managers — at some point this summer. He’ll need a lengthy rehab assignment whenever he’s ready for that to take place, so it’s hard to see Stanton back before the All-Star break.
Jackson Chourio finished 3-for-5 and launched his 10th homer Wednesday as the Brewers crushed the Reds 9-1.
Chourio is still swinging at everything — he saw eight pitches in his five at-bats today — but it’s working again for the moment. He has 12 hits, including two homers and two doubles, in his last six games, taking his OPS back up to .732.
Brought in after DL Hall opened with three scoreless innings, Quinn Priester pitched five innings of one-run ball for a win Wednesday against the Reds.
Priester, now 3-2 with a 3.88 ERA, wouldn’t normally be a mixed-league guy, but he’s a lot more interesting if the Brewers keep using him like this, since his chances of recording a win go way up. He also relieved Hall last time out against the Phillies and got a win for allowing two runs in six innings then. He had only one win in his seven starts. Priester appeared due to lose his spot or at least take on a diminished role with Brandon Woodruff returning, but since that’s been pushed back again, the Brewers will probably stay the course for now. Priester is due to face the Braves next time out.
Andrew Abbott surrendered five runs in six innings Wednesday against the Brewers to take his first loss of the season.
Abbott struck out six and had some of his best velocity of the season today. Alas, while only five of the 19 balls in play against him today were hit hard, those produced two homers, a double and a single. Abbott was due for an unlucky day after allowing one or no runs in six straight starts. He’ll take a 5-1 record and a 2.18 ERA into his start next week in Cleveland.
