We are now into the month of May and new baseball week is upon us. We have almost four weeks of MLB data now and that means our prop picks over at Underdog Fantasy should become more consistent. There are some interesting pitching matchups today that can be taken advantage of as well as a few hot hitters. Let’s check my top MLB Picks at Underdog Fantasy for Monday, May 2nd, and make sure to keep checking the board as more player props become available.

MLB Underdog Player Props

OVER 5.5 Strikeouts

Pablo López has been lights out this season. He has the league's best ERA (0.39) and is tied for the league lead in WHIP (0.76). His changeup, one of the best in the game, was the fourth most chased of any single pitch in 2021 and this year he is carrying an elite 33% CSW – 8% above average. The changeup is also causing a .174 slugging % which is much lower than the .334 league average.

Lopez has 15 strikeouts in his last two starts combined and now gets an Arizona offense that is striking out at a league worst 26.4% to right-handed pitching. He is home in Loan Depot Park, a renowned pitchers park and is in a great spot to hit the over on the 5.5 Strikeout prop.

OVER 1.5 Total Bases

Carlos Correa is on fire. He is hitting .380 over the last week with a .407 OBP and has multi-hit games in four straight. He is currently top 5% in the league in Exit Velocity (93.5); Max EV (113.4) and Hard Hit % (53.7).

Today he faces Tyler Wells and a bad Baltimore Oriole bullpen. Wells is right-handed but has been a reverse splits pitcher in his short MLB career. He has allowed 12 home runs in 70 innings with eight of them coming from the right side. Lock Carlos Correa in today with the over 1.5 total bases prop.
