There is nothing like a full day and night of baseball on a Saturday, and that is certainly the case tonight. From the perspective of MLB DFS, the focus tonight is on the nine-game main slate that begins at 4:00 PM on the east coast. As we look towards making it a profitable day, let’s stay on top of the latest MLB weather and MLB news to find the best value out of today’s MLB lineups. Let’s take a look at some value priced MLB DFS picks on DraftKings, FanDuel, and Yahoo Fantasy for today.

MLB DFS Value Pitchers

DraftKings - $5,200; FanDuel - $6,300; Yahoo - $36

After allowing four runs in his first outing of the season, Tyler Wells hasn’t allowed more than three since and he is also coming off his best start of the year. In six innings against Boston in his last start, Wells didn’t allow a run while scattering just two hits and one walk. That brought his ERA down to 3.71 for the season along with a 1.08 WHIP and Wells also threw a career high 88 pitches. It’s solid matchup against Cleveland for Wells and at the price, we can live with the fact that he’s only striking out 5.77 batters per nine innings. Wells’ 4.47 xFIP does give some cause for concern, but his other metrics (3.34 xERA and 3.90 FIP) do paint a better picture. More importantly, his price gives you the ultimate freedom in building your roster.

DraftKings - $6,800; FanDuel - $6,900; Yahoo - $36

We are still looking for Roansy Contreras to go more than five innings and 84 pitches, but in his two starts, he has allowed just a combined two runs over 10 innings. In 17.2 innings with the Pirates so far this season, Contreras is striking out about a batter an inning while logging a 46.7% groundball rate. The upside is here against Arizona, and while he has pitched well so far out of the rotation, I also don’t think we have seen the best Contreras has to offer yet.

MLB DFS Value Hitters

DraftKings - $2,100; FanDuel - $2,300; Yahoo - $15

Ever since his promotion, all Taylor Trammell has done is hit over the past week or so. After Friday, Trammell had hits in six games out of his last seven which brought his average down to .360 through 31 plate appearances. With a .421 BABIP, Trammell likely isn’t long for performing at such a high level but the former top prospect does have the talent and tools to support success. And at this price, there really isn’t much risk in taking another shot at Trammell and to see if his 21.2-degree launch angle translates into more home runs.

DraftKings - $4,200; FanDuel - $2,600; Yahoo - $13

There are worse approaches than targeting Zach Davies tonight, and we get Daniel Vogelbach at a fair price, but it’s really hard to ignore Pittsburgh’s cleanup hitter on FD and Yahoo. Davies has allowed 1.49 home runs per nine innings so far this year and left-handed batters are also hitting .273 against him this year. That aligns perfectly for Vogelbach who is far better with the platoon advantage this season as all six of his home runs have come against right-handed pitching (92 at bats) and he is hitting .261 against them. Vogelbach’s power is real and the thought is that he goes deep off Davies tonight.

DraftKings - $2,800; FanDuel - $2,700; Yahoo - $11

Yuli Gurriel gives us another cheap first base option today as he is a lot more reasonably priced on DK and thanks to the utility spot, you can play both him and Vogelbach on FD. An Astros stack is going to be quite popular tonight after they put up 10 runs against the Royals on Friday, and Gurriel fits nicely based on price point and the fact that he bats square in the middle of the order. It has been a slow start to the year for Gurriel, but he has a proven track record of success and is the midst of a modest three game hit streak. Both his .229 batting average and the fact that he has only driven in 14 runs are uncharacteristic but we have seen Gurriel be a legitimate source of RBI previously and it’s hard to ignore him in an Astros’ stack at this price.

DraftKings - $4,000; FanDuel - $3,000; Yahoo - $12

I’m never going to feel comfortable with Glenn Otto on the mound, so it only makes sense to target him from a DFS perspective. J.P. Crawford isn’t what you envision when you think of a cleanup hitter, but it does catch my attention as I look to build a Seattle stack today. Crawford is hitting .297 on the season with just 13 RBI, but he does have five home runs and 23 runs scored while earning the right to be in the lineup in a key spot for Seattle on nightly basis. It does help that Crawford keeps the strikeouts to a minimum (15.4%).
