Chris Bassitt posted a quality start in a no-decision against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday, surrendering three runs on six hits over his six frames.
The 36-year-old right-hander piled up five strikeouts on the night while issuing just one free pass. After keeping the Diamondbacks’ offense at bay through his first three innings, they scratched out a run in the fourth inning and added another pair in the fifth on run-scoring knocks from Ketel Marte and Josh Naylor. Bassitt got 11 whiffs on 97 pitches on the night, six of those on his cutter, while registering a solid CSW of 31 percent. Now 7-3 on the season, he’ll tote a 3.75 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and an 83/20 K/BB ratio (86 1/3 innings) into Sunday’s premium matchup against the White Sox.
Chris Bassitt notched his seventh victory of the season on Tuesday, giving up four runs on six hits over seven innings against the Cardinals.
The 36-year-old hurler also issued a pair of walks on the evening while striking out three. All of the scoring done against him came in the fourth inning as Nolan Arenado ripped an RBI single into left field and Nolan Gorman followed with a three-run blast. Bassitt settled in after that though, ending his day with three scoreless frames which allowed the Jays’ offense to retake the lead. He got five whiffs on 89 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of just 22 percent. Now 7-3 on the season, he’ll carry a respectable 3.70 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and a 78/19 K/BB ratio (80 1/3 innings) into Tuesday’s soiree against the Diamondbacks.
Chris Bassitt limited the Phillies to one run and five hits over seven innings Thursday.
Bassitt got eight runs to work with in the first three innings, so he had an easy time securing his sixth win today. Pounding the strike zone, he completed seven innings for the first time this year and moved to 6-3 with a 3.56 ERA. He’ll face the Cardinals next week.
Despite giving up five runs in five innings, Chris Bassitt notched his fifth win Friday against the A’s.
He improved to 2-1 when giving up five runs this season, not that he wants to keep taking his chances there. Bassitt struck out six. His ERA (now 3.80) has been on the rise lately, mostly because of some issues with the home run, but his peripherals have remained solid. Barring a change in the rotation, he’ll make his next start in Minnesota.
