Jose Quintana surrendered seven runs — five earned — and eight hits in 4 1/3 innings Saturday against the Cardinals.
The last three earned runs came after Quintana intentionally plunked Willson Contreras in the fifth inning, and while it did sort of seem warranted, it might well have cost the Brewers the game, which they ended up losing by three runs. The goes as both Quintana’s shortest start and the most runs he’s allowed this season. He dropped to 4-2 with a 3.35 ERA ahead of a start against the Twins next weekend.
Jose Quintana surrendered one run over five innings Saturday against the Padres.
Quintana won his first four starts for the Brewers, but he’s had no luck since, even though he’s struggled just once in giving up six runs to the Cubs. He’s allowed four earned runs over 15 1/3 innings in his last three starts, all of which turned into no-decisions. He’ll make his next start Thursday against the Cardinals.
Jose Quintana allowed two runs in five innings and got a no-decision in the Brewers’ 5-2 victory over the Phillies on Sunday.
Brewers activated LHP José Quintana from the 15-day injured list.
Quintana returns to Milwaukee’s rotation to take the ball on Sunday afternoon against the Phillies after missing three weeks with a shoulder impingement. Fantasy managers would certaily rather see top prospects Jacob Misiorowski or Logan Henderson get their opportunity in the big leagues over Quintana, but they’re going to have to wait a bit longer.
