2025 Player Outlook
While Torres still played a full 154 games in 2024, he ended with only 15 homers, 4 steals, and a .257 average. He still piled up a respectable 80 runs scored getting to lead off in front of Soto and Judge for a decent chunk of the season but overall was a disappointment in fantasy. He is still a strong OBP guy and should slot right into the top third of an improving Detroit lineup. He looked much better in the second half of the season, slashing .292/.361/.419 after the Midsummer Classic. Torres is more of an accumulator when it comes to his statistical output, but given the looks of the Detroit roster, ABs shouldn't be an issue. If things go well in 2025, he could be a member of the 15/10 club, maybe even 20/10 if things go really, really well, with a respectable .255ish average.

Gleyber Torres went 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs and three RBI on Friday night as the Tigers triumphed over the visiting Reds.
Torres wasted no time in this one, crushing the very first pitch that Nick Martinez threw for a 412-foot (109.2 mph EV) solo shot that gave the Tigers an early 1-0 advantage. He then drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning that extended their lead to 4-2. The 28-year-old second baseman added on a 376-foot (99.9 mph EV) opposite-field solo shot off of Ian Gibaut in the eighth inning. He has been a tremendous addition to the Tigers’ offense this season, slashing .271/.373/.414 with seven homers, 33 RBI and four stolen bases.
Gleyber Torres reached five times and drove in a pair in an extra-inning loss to the Guardians on Saturday.
Gleyber Torres (leg) is hitting second as the designated hitter against the Guardians on Friday.
Torres was removed from Thursday’s game against the Guardians with lower leg discomfort, but he’s feeling well enough to DH against Cleveland for Friday’s game. Assuming no setbacks, he should be able to get back to second base in the coming days.
Gleyber Torres was pulled from Thursday’s battle against the Guardians due to lower right leg discomfort.
He’ll head for further evaluation and likely imaging to determine exactly what’s going on there. It’s possible that it’s related to the hamstring injury that Torres battled at the beginning of May. The Tigers probably won’t have an additional update on his status until Friday, but it wouldn’t be surprising if he wound up on the injured list here. If that’s the case, look for Colt Keith to slide back over to second base, opening at-bats in the designated hitter spot for the Tigers.
