Adrian Houser has been scratched from Thursday’s start against the Cardinals and will be placed on the paternity list.
The move isn’t official yet since Wednesday’s contest was postponed due to inclement weather. Houser was set to start Thursday’s contest against the Cardinals, so the White Sox will presumably either need to call up a spot starter or roll with a bullpen game during the doubleheader. Lefty Tyler Gilbert is expected to be called up to take his spot on the active roster.
Adrian Houser allowed three runs over five innings Friday in a loss to the Rangers.
Houser walked four and struck out just two in his poorest showing so far for the White Sox. He’s still 2-2 with a 2.15 ERA through five starts, and he’s slated to take on the Cardinals next.
Adrian Houser limited the Royals to a lone run through six innings in a victory Saturday.
Vinnie Pasquantino’s homer was the only damage. Houser moved to 2-1 with a 1.48 ERA in four starts since the White Sox plucked him off the Rangers’ Triple-A affiliate. He still seems like a weak choice in mixed leagues, but he’d be more interesting if a contender came calling. The White Sox shouldn’t hesitate to move on if they get a decent offer. As is, he’s set to face the team that wouldn’t call him up next week in Arlington.
Adrian Houser allowed three runs in 6 1/3 innings and took the loss against the Orioles on Sunday.
