Brandon Nimmo went 2-for-3 with two solo home runs, a walk, and three runs scored on Wednesday against the Nationals.

Nimmo certainly loves playing against the Nationals. This was his second multi-homer game of the season, and both have come against them. He tied a franchise record with nine RBI in his other two-homer game, so only driving two runs this game is a bit of a disappointment. Nevertheless, Nimmo has looked much more like himself since moving back to the two-hole in the Mets’ lineup and feels well on his way to a strong summer hitting in the heart of this fantastic lineup.

Brandon Nimmo came off the bench Sunday to play three innings in left field and flew out in his lone at-bat.

Nimmo experienced calf cramping Saturday, which likely had something to do with him being out of the starting lineup today. He should be back in there Monday against the Dodgers.

Brandon Nimmo had two hits, two walks and two runs scored Wednesday against the White Sox.

In spite of his OBP struggles this season, Nimmo was elevated to the second spot in the Mets lineup after the team decided to drop Juan Soto and Pete Alonso to third and fourth. It’s not necessarily a great thing for his fantasy value, since hitting fourth below those two guys was an excellent situation, too, but if it leads to some more patience at the plate from Nimmo, it might pay off for the Mets. He came into today with a .274 OBP.
