Sean Manaea (oblique) will make his next minor league rehab start on Sunday.
New York hasn’t decided where Manaea’s next rehab outing will take place yet, but the 33-year-old lefty looked sharp on Tuesday night, tossing 2 2/3 shutout frames for High-A Brooklyn. He figures to be ready to rejoin New York’s outstanding rotation by the end of June or early July.

Manaea struck out four and threw 46 pitches (31 strikes) in his second rehab outing in the lower minors. The 33-year-old southpaw will likely need a couple additional tune-up starts before he’s ready to return to New York for his season debut. He’s been out since spring training working his way back from an oblique strain. He should rejoin the Mets’ rotation in late June or early July.

Setting aside the results from a performance standpoint, Manaea built up his workload to 36 pitches (26 strikes) in his rehab debut. He notched two strikeouts and didn’t hand out a free pass. The 33-year-old southpaw figures to make an impact for fantasy managers over the final few months of the year once he makes it back to New York’s rotation. He’ll need a couple of additional tune-up outings, but appears on track to make his season debut by early July.
